I've always liked the BFG's but just never purchased any. However I'm also considering this

Funny thing is... the Destination A/Ts are actually rated MUCH higher than the BFGs on TireRack.

Re: 2014 Cherokee Sightings

Saw one downtown on Tuesday. Unfortunately, I thought it looked even worse in person with the lights on.

Q Tech;

The Firestone Destination AT is an EXCELLENT tire. Great in the snow, good ride, good off road, etc... and they wear very well. Give them a chance. They are not your typical OEM crappy tire( unless these are built to a lower grade ).

If you just want the BFG's go for it. Just don't do it assuming the AT's are another crappy OE tire. They are not. They are a very popular tire( #1 on Tirerack reviews ).

I had Firestone Wilderness AT's on my Ford Ranger (10 years ago). When the Explorer roll over fiasco happened everyone jumped ship to Goodyears. The Firestones were 10 times the tire the Goodyears were. I hear good things about the BFG's but I also rely heavily on the Tirerack reviews. I always say tires are the only thing touching the ground, don't cheap out.

The best tires are cheaper than busted up sheet metal and broken bones.

Re: 2014 Cherokee Sightings

I've kept a sharp eye out for the Cherokee since I last saw one in Toledo last week. I haven't seen any others but it's interesting today I saw 3-4 Toyota Tundra's, a couple Cadillac coupes, and what looked like some Kia or Hyundai Suv's. All under the black and white swirly wraps and bug guards.

Re: 2014 Cherokee Sightings

Saw a white one on Sat June 15 westbound on Riverside Dr in Windsor. Drop dead gorgeous. I had to do a double take as it as coming towards me and I wondered what it was. I think that was the point that I realized we'd have to swap my wife's Escape for something with a transfer case that has a neutral. Couldn't think of a better combination of colour, size and weight to tow behind a "white" motorhome.

Re: 2014 Cherokee Sightings

I see at least one Cherokee almost daily on the roads now.

Not sure who is driving them and why, but they're everywhere up here (northern Detroit suburbs).

Re: 2014 Cherokee Sightings

The only reason to spend money switch FS Destinations off of the TH is to go to a MT type tire... I have BFGs and like them but I would not trade a brand new AT tire from Firestone for one, not worth the $$$.

Good to know. I'm leaning toward keeping the fire stones.

They are all pre-production/pilot models, they have built over 1,000 of them so far.
