Question 2014 Jeep Cherokee issues

Just need some help. I purchased a 2014 Jeep Cherokee on Feb 15, 2015 only had 7 miles on it. After putting 1500 miles on it the shifter would not move, almost like the vehicle was not turned on, the button wouldnt go in to allow it to shift, took several months for the service dept to "guess" what it was, with over 30 times being stranded because the vehicle wouldnt go into gear. Control module, replaced with new one. Went to pick up and unable to leave dealership, this time they said it showed an error, radio control module. One week later when putting the vehicle in gear it would light up all the buttons by the shifter and not go into gear. Took it back in and was told needed to replace the whole shift console. Now after having it home for 2 days the service airbag light is on, also messing with the screen that displays the errors and speed. On top of all that I have had them reprogram and reset several things in the computer to clear other errors. Also dealing with Chrysler this whole time, they are telling me "as long as they area able to fix it they will, no resolution until no longer needs repaired". It is in the shop more than with me since week 2 of owning the vehicle.

Actually the dealer/Chrysler is wrong "if they can fix it". There are limits to the repairs on the same thing and/or the amount of time out of service.
You would have to check the lemon laws in your state to clarify this point.


#1. I would call Chrysler Customer Care and explain your situation in a concise formatted sequence. Write it out first so you can be consistent every time you talk about it and do not miss anything. ** List number of repairs (visits/reasons) and the total time in the dealer vs. time since purchase. A % works great.
Stay calm and deliberate. Ask to be put you on a star case and that you want the vehicle replaced. You also want to know when this is going to be resolved.


#2. You can find a attorney that handles Lemon law in your area if they can not resolve your issues. Basically the attorney will need all this information documented.
So writing it down for your Chrysler call will help.


Obviously it will be far better for you to have all this resolved by the dealer/Chrysler.
But documenting will do wonders with Chrysler as this always turns heads. Its lets Chrysler know you have the data down and they can clearly understand there is a problem.
Not just someone complaining about vague dealer problems.
Seems to me there is a basic item the dealer is missing. Sometimes Chrysler sends in a Chrysler tech to see what is going on when on a Star case..
