Exclamation 2014 Jeep Cherokee Problem - Air Conditioning Cut Out/ Engine Temp Dip

I am driving a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited. Today, for what I think is the first time, I experienced the following problem. While driving in city conditions, the A/C started blowing ambient-temperature air (went from maybe 65 degree air to 75 degree air). At the same time, the engine temperature dipped from normal to cold. This lasted a few minutes. Eventually the A/C seemed to kick back in, gradually, and the engine temp gauge returned to normal.

Has anyone experienced any issues with the A/C or perhaps a related issue with engine temp?

Thanks,
CP

The HAVAC changing temperatures doesn't bother me. That is how the "auto" setting works. The coolant changing temperatures is a bit odd though. Are you sure you were looking at the right readout?
