HI Folks,

Going to the dealer this week to put in an order for a 2015 Cherokee Limited (actually DW is). DW says it is the only one with the options she wants - just like on our GC.
We saw one the other day ....Limited/v6/ "active drive II", in a parking lot. Noticed it seemed to be sitting higher than normal. Does it? Tried to wait around for the owner to come out from (what ever store he/she was in to ask questions, but couldn't wait long enough.) If this has the off road suspension is it "that" much stiffer - comments please. As it is going to be her car for commuting.
Spoke to a person yesterday that was visiting next door if he liked the Cherokee. Explained it was a rental and he (they) didn't like it as it was way too small for them - they were used to a full sized SUV. Test drove a "14" a few weeks ago - seemed alright to us.
Just worried about build quality and that transmission. Seem to read about a lot of tranny problems on this forum?!?!?
All the best and your comments would be helpful.

Stiffness is sort of opinion. I test drove ADII Cherokees and a TH and they all pretty cushy compared to my JK. Of course those leather seats are great.

If you want a soft suspension get one with AD I.

Nothing beats test driving one over a route you normally drive (not the dealer loop). You can get a good impression of a vehicle by driving it in familiar territory compared to your current DD.

If you are trying to decide if the 4 cyl is good enough get on the Interstate... see if it can get going on the acceleration lane and if it can get out of its own way when passing.

The latest update of the tranny seems to be a good one from what I have read.

Finally, my opinion, the late build 2014s are just as good as first build 2015s. There seems to be a great inventory of Limiteds. If you get on it and get aggressive with the pricing you can probably pull a great deal.

I have had my TH since April and it now has 3000 miles on it and I have to say this is by far the best jeep I have owned (my wife's 14 GC is better in certain areas but should be a $4000 more!). I hve had zero rpoblems and I am extremaely critical. My transmission has operated flawlessly since day one. My service manager recommended that I get the lastest transmission flash even if I had no complaints, I had it done yesterday and I feel no difference but I do find it interesting that I am seeing and increase in MPG, I have never had that happen after a software update. The Cherokee is a well thought out car that is great on the road and has a super AWD system. it is smaller insdie compared to the GC but I can live with it. Only complaint I have is the samll gas tank and fill on the right side. Buy one and you will be very happy I am sure!

Thank you all for replies.
Going to go with the Limited AD I, V6.
DW won't be off roading other than the occasional dirt road. 90% pavement.
Although I like the added body hight.
The only thing getting her PO'd is you can't get the brown leather in the Limited - only the TH. She figures that the Brown seats would look great in the Blue, White or Black Limited. Oh well, can't have everything.

PS: Jeep, If you read that last paragraph about the Brown/tan seats in the Limited you owe me a new Cherokee - Ha!

Well Boys and Girls,

DW and I went down to our local dealer and placed an order and left a deposit for a 2015 Cherokee Limited today. Now the wait begins. - 4 to 6 weeks.
While we were there they had a Cherokee (not a limited) "WITH" active drive II on the lot. Took it for a spin. Wasn't a rough ride at all. Took it down some of the local paved country roads that aren't exactly smooth. Jeep road great. Thought it would be a lot stiffer. Ordered the new Limited with AD II as well. She likes that extra bit of height.
All the best folks

They won't start building the 2015 models until July 21st. ( see post by Milous for 2015 information in first page of forum). With that in mind it will be 6-9 weeks from there. The initial launch date is Sept 1. Didn't want you to expect 6 - 9 from your order date as it's still a few weeks from starting to build them.

I have the 2014 limited 3.2L V6 4x4 fully loaded with ADII which comes with offroad suspension so probably why you see the difference in height. You will love the fully loaded limited. It's pricier but worth it.
