2016 KL Trailhawk - squeaking roof rail
I'm a new owner with about 3000 miles on my 2016 Trailhawk. My squeaking issue started when I mounted a Yakima cargo basket along with a set of Yakima aero roof bars. At first it was intermittent but since has got worse and worse.
Took it into the dealer and they said they'd try to torque the bolt under the little access cover (the squeak comes from the right rear rail). After I picked it up they said the problem wasn't solved and they'd have to drop the headliner to fully address the issue to the tune of 500 labor with no guarantee of a fix.
This is a new vehicle, so I'm thinking I now have to have a conversation with the service manager and or his boss to get this addressed. Wondering whether any of you have had a similar issue, and what I ought to do about this. The squeak is driving me nuts, to the point that I would pay to have it fixed. Should I offer to split the labor?
