3.2 2 WH Drive Dyno Numbers.

I was reading about the cai AFE made for our 3.2 motor. There dyno is a 2 wh dynojet. Bone stock it put out 214 hp & 194 tq which is about a 21% lose in hp to the wheels. Im not sure how much more the AWD would lose over the 2 wh drive unless they put 1 on a AW DYNOJET. When we go testing if theres a 2 wh drive cherokee ill try and see if we can race together. There new cai for the 3.2 put out 9 hp &10 lbs tq over stock.

That seems like a pretty big horsepower loss through the drive train. I thought the loss was usually more like 12-15%. From the 0-60 performance these 4000 lb. Cherokees are getting, I would think the engines are rated accurately and that seems low for a dyno rating. Chrysler is often known to under-rate their horsepower, not over-rate it.

I wonder if it's just an aberration due to the all-wheel drive.

Thanks for the numbers. It is not a Viper but it should get the job done.

Is it possible their focus is hp/torque comparison with/without their equipment and not adjusting density altitude to match Chrysler's SAE HP?

Dynos can give corrected or uncorrected numbers. I think they heat soak a engine to get low numbers then run a cold engine to get high numbers to show there cai puts out a lot more hp. 1st time at the drag strip with my trailhawk i ran it just like my past 2 srt8 and it didnt perform the same. 1st run was aircleaner out then 1 hr ice down with the 2nd run was with aircleaner in and it ran .06 & 1.2 mph faster but the DA did drop 453 ft. The last run the DA dropped 897 ft with a 2.5 hr ice down but i put back on the engine cover and ran .05 faster & same mph as run 2. Going again in feb with the weather will be lots cooler.

Sounds shady. Reminds me of some computer speed tests where there were/are intentional design moves to get better numbers on specific tests.
