7-inch Multi-View Screen

I have new Trailhawk. The 7-inch Multi -View Screen between speed and tach is standard. It is called Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC). Among the icons should be the "Terrain" icon with sub menu that will show Vehicle Roll, Wheel Articulation, Pitch, etc.

I cannot get the Terrain display. Does anyone know how?

Re: 7-inch Multi-View Screen

I've had my trailhawk for a week now.. Congrats on the new ride, hoe you enjoy it.

I haven't seen a terrain screen, I think that's only on the grand cherokee unfortunately, I've been unable to find anything else about it. Can you link to where you read it's supposed to be there?

Have you tried changing modes on the Selec-Terrain knob? Maybe it has to be out of Auto for it to show?

I have seen pictures of the Cherokee 7" Multiview display showing what terrain mode you are in. I will try and get a link for you...

EDIT - let's see if this link works...

What the OP is looking for is more than that. In the GC it is accessed via the buttons on the steering wheel. It will actually show a graphic of the axels, etc.

Re: 7-inch Multi-View Screen

I have tried everything, even low range in Rock mode, but no luck, no "Terrain" icon. I saw it as being available in the Cherokee in both a brochure mailed to me by Jeep and in a brochure that I downloaded that should be in dealer showrooms shortly. Assistance from Jeep did not have an answer except to check with my dealer's parts department. Huh?

I get a feeling those pics were from a concept or something.

I'm sorry to say I don't think we get that screen. If you look at the little quick start card that came with the vehicle about the eviction it lists the other 7 screens on the EVIC but nothing about the terrain.

The pic I posted is on Jeep.Com right now. That is where I got it. I wouldn't think they would be using concept photos now that the vehicle is actually out?

Re: 7-inch Multi-View Screen

Here is another photo on Jeep.Com showing it under Interior Photos...

http://www.jeep.com/assets/images/ve...ring-wheel.jpg

I got out the brochure I have on the Cherokee I got at the dealer a couple weeks ago when I went to see the new Cherokee they got for the 1st time and it shows a Terrain mode feature in the 7" Multi View display area too. You can see all modes depicted except for Auto. So Rock, Sand/Mud, Snow, and Sport mode are shown in the various photos.

Note - This is not the same brochure that you could download off the Jeep site when the Cherokee info was 1st put up. It is the really nice one they have now you get at the dealer( can be viewed online now as well ). If you haven't seen the new one check it out. In hard copy it is split. One half is about the Exterior and the other half( you flip it over )is about the interior. Online it is just 31 pages.

https://www.jeep.com/assets/pdf/cherokee.pdf

If you look online go to...

Page 11 - Terrain mode is shown in the upper left corner and text under it says -

Quote:
The available 7-inch Multi-View Display provides performance data and dozens of other stats.
Page 21 - Terrain mode is shown front and center as well as in 2 shots to the right. The text under the Performance info says -

Quote:
Get real-time fuel economy data. See how many miles you can travel before you need to refuel. Watch how the available Selec-Terrain system is functioning with the perspective visuals.
Page 22 & 23 - Terrain mode shown in photos. No text about it.

It sound to me like the Terrain mode is there under a "Performance" area/section of the display where the MPG, DTE, etc... and such are sown. You may have to somehow change screens within that area to see Terrain mode? Just shown so many places that it almost has to be. If they decided to take it out you would think they would at the least remove the photos from the website that show it.

I will stop by the local dealer next time I am out that way and ask if I can get in a TH or Limited and try and see if I can figure it out. I am on really good terms with them and I am sure they would let me do it if I ask.

Re: 7-inch Multi-View Screen

When you change modes it shows the picture with the terrain mode selected for a few seconds, but then it is gone, and not seen again until the selec-terrain mode is changed to something else.

The Jeep picture is simply a shot of what you see when changing modes.

Makes sense. I wonder though if you can still bring it up manually?
