A Goodbye and a hello!

Last night I said goodbye to an old friend, my 2008 Sahara Unlimited. Over the years we had many good times together, riding with the doors off, soft top down, many road trips, on and off road adventures both urban and wild. One of my fondest memories is a road trip down to the Florida Keys, cruising the seven mile bridge with the top down cemented my fondness for that Jeep, I will miss you!

Also said hello to my new anvil grey Trailhawk! Not even 24hrs old and I've got the feeling this is going to be a fun ride!

Re: A Goodbye and a hello!

What I won't miss...
Death wobble
Leaking roof (and subsequent musty interior smell and constantly wet carpets)
Engine burning oil.... and no idea why
Zero interior amenities
Terrible gas mileage

I'll definitely miss the soft top, crazy ground clearance ( I had a lift) and taking the doors off!

Looking forward to having ALL the amenities (got the Hawk fully loaded), independent suspension, better gas mileage and the advanced 4wd.

I'm pretty stoked, have only some 20KM so far (from the dealer and in to work!) so I have a lot of "familiarizing" to do!

Congrats! Were you really waiting 2+ months for your order that never happened? Just curious since I'm waiting and also looking for alternate vehicles.

Re: A Goodbye and a hello!

Yeah, 3 months with an order on 'D' status and no movement, my dealer found the exact spec I had on order at another shop being used as a demo! yoink!

I was told that my original order was to move to D1 status on Monday, but still no movement from what I can tell.

Trailhawk is competent offroad as well as on. It just won't climb trees.

Sweet! I meant to get back with you to see what happened to your order.
Glad they found you one just like it so now you can enjoy it!
Mine and a few others are close to being built now.
Sometime in February I'll get to see my beautiful red Trailhawk.

Re: A Goodbye and a hello!

Thoughts on the smaller interior space?

Re: A Goodbye and a hello!

Just about a week in and I haven't noticed the lack of space being an issue so far. We'll see when we have to load this thing up for a weekend trip sometime.

Cargo space is a concern, the unlimited wrangler was cavernous! I'll make due however...
