Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

Our sales person told us that we were charged inventory price but when I build the same car on jeep.com it comes to the same price. Don't like being mislead. Also the sales person does not check her email very often I asked for a copy of the PO and have not gotten it after two weeks. Thinking of going to another dealer. Any suggestions?

Yep, take your business elsewhere. When the salesperson is not responsive after two weeks pay attention to the message being sent by them.

Did you mean invoice price? Jeep.com give you the MSRP price. If the dealer price is the same as Jeep.com, run (or email) to other dealers.

Her official answer is "SOON."

The regional business centers are saying before the end of October, but all she would say is SOON, so she can be right.

"SOON" is relative though. They were saying soon in June, in August and in September.

Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

Go to Kbb.com and Edmunds.com or similar sites. Build your Cherokee and check the Invoice price. Print those out along with a copy of the same car at MSRP. Walk into a dealer armed with those figures... literally paper in hand. Tell them you'll buy if they will deal.
If you are a member of Sam's Club, Costco, or other business with a car buying service you can get a general ideal of a decent discount from them.
At least it gives you a starting point

Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

Those programs are good "no hassle" ways to go.
If you become a member of Tread Lightly Jeep will honor an automatic discount through them.
Believe it or not if you look at the prices of new Jeeps on the CarMax website (the store in Norcross, GA) you'll see decent upfront discounts and they do not have dealer markups or dealer "fees".

That whole Carmax thing is cool but I always liked the idea of coming in prepared with my numbers and bargaining that deal down to where its comfy for both and not the whole take it or leave it pricing or no haggling allowed. I guess it's good for some though.

Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

on the used cars it is hit or miss on pricing... but they sell good vehicles.

look at the new cars in Norcross. you'll see the discounts off of msrp on the website... which are pretty competitive when you think you don't have to haggle, listen to B.S. about the car being special or rare or some other sales nonsense, no add on dealer fee and then get a different story when the manager shows up etc...

P.S. I don't work for them but I used them as a price reference point recently.

Makes sense but the whole no haggle thing never made me comfortable where i felt I got the best deal possible especially with all this info out here on various vehicles that can save you a lot more money during negotiations.
