It seems like whenever someone tells the details of their deal, no matter how happy they are with it someone else will pick it apart and tell them they got taken for a ride.

The moral is: If you are happy with your deal, don't ask people to pat you on the back for negotiating it. Just be happy with it.

Its like pay checks... don't bother discussing it. someone always gets a better deal than you, never wasted money on anything, and always got their way with the service department.

Extended Warranties

I bought my JK unlimited new in 08 because of the lifetime power train then upgraded to the lifetime max warranty.
told my kids it will be that "old Jeep" in the garage 20 years from now.
difference is... jeep gets to rebuild it for me.
I will leave paperwork selling it to my wife or kid when I am old. since I live in Florida I get to transfer the warranty to a new owner once.

I don't recall anyone asking for a pat on the back or even an opinion for that matter. As stated in the original post of this thread the purpose of this thread to share my experience of the ordering process and initial stages of ownership of this new vehicle. However I do realize that posting this experience in an open forum leaves one subject to opinions from all sides.

As long as you're happy with what you think you got then be happy and don't take it personal when someone else thinks theirs was better.

I think a couple of people need to grow up. I bought my 2014 Cherokee using my mother's surviving spouse Chrysler discount. On top of that my brother is a friend of the dealership's owner and has even worked for him at one time. As you might know Chrysler dealers can sell below dealer invoice if they want to unlike GM or Ford. I can assure you very few of you could beat my car cost with all of the price breaks involved. As to warranty, the extended warranty has always paid off for me when I bought a car. At one time I bought a Labaron Convertible with a 4 cylinder engine equipped with a turbo. I blew the head clear off of that engine. Chrysler rebuilt it under the extended warranty at no cost to me. In this case I leased my Cherokee with it being a new vehicle and not knowing its reliability track record. I will turn it back in before the factory warranty runs out. My only point is that we each have different circumstances so it is impossible to compare deals/prices. The only person you need to please is yourself. This sticking your fingers in your ears and wagging your hands is childish.

Are you serious? The Limited we've ordered has

Advanced Brake Assist
Forward Collision Warning Plus
Lane Departure Warning
Adaptive Cruise Control
Blind Sport and Cross Path Detection
Parallel & Perp Park Assist with stop
8.4 inch touch screen with backup camera, GPS and Satellite radio
Integrated Voice Command with Bluetooth
Ventilated front seats
Active Drive II transfer case with mode selection AND NEUTRAL with the drive train disengaged when in two wheel drive to reduce drive line drag

How many of these features were available on a 2006 Explorer?

VERY FEW if any. To flat tow you had to pay a couple of hundred bucks for a dealer installed neutral.

I'd have to read the entire such guarantee to see, but it seems like a much different thing than the ones which only go to 100,000 miles or such.

2006 Explorer is not even in the same ballpark.

The 2006 explorer came with a business card with a good towing company because it was always needed.

Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

Wow, really guys? Why don't you all just whip 'em out and beat each other and get it out of your systems so we can go back to helping each other out.

Then again, never mind, don't do that. Might start another argument about who has the biggest club.
