Here's a note...

I HATE THAT THEY (Chrysler) USED THE CHEROKEE NAME!!!

Now, this is not new or a surprise. I hated the decision from the start. But just two weeks into ownership and the Cherokee/ Grand Cherokee confusion is rubbing me raw. I'm sure its made worse with all the holiday visiting and such but damn. ITS ANNOYING!

Its the redundant conversations and general misunderstanding that go with the name.

Why not turn up the 9 speaker audio system and drive somewhere they can't follow you?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I'm thankful for D1 status

Re: A year in my TRAILHAWK

I am not surprised by the confusion. Haven't you seen the "man on the street" Q&As they do on Leno or Fox News. No wonder we have lousy politicians, look who votes. We have the most information bloated society in the world and it seems 80% population is still in Stupidville.

Re: A year in my TRAILHAWK

Confusion?
I didn't get it until a retired Chrysler engineer came up and "was liking what they did" and "does it have the diesel" - then it started to sink in.
They don't know what they are looking at and they don't even know what they are selling for the most part.
Maybe the delay from manufacturing to selling cut back on the new model hype to the point that they just won't get it. The consumer's dependence on hype can't be underestimated. Hope it won't continue to harm this fine vehicle.

Re: A year in my TRAILHAWK

So, yes my Cherokee is grand, but it is not a Grand Cherokee.

Pulled my boat today. Its a fishing rig totaling about 3000-3100 pounds. Overall towing experience was just fine. Mileage to quite a hit averaging 15.9mpg running 60-65mph mostly flat excluding ramp activities. This was no shock but it was slightly more significant than with my wrangler. Oddly acceleration and overall performance seemed significantly less affected than in the wrangler with the same load.
