Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

It is my understanding that the reason for the recent delay is further tuning on the computer to get more mileage. Sure would be nice if the Trail Hawks manage 28+

The Liberty may have been bigger than the Patriot but the Patriot has a lot more interior room. I feel like a sardine in a can in a Liberty but in the Patriot I am very comfy. Patriot has more room inside than the Wrangler too.

Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

Your correct there is not FWD option for the Trail Hawk. It kind of defeats the purpose.

Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

The fuel economy rating is puzzling. I see commercials for a RAM 1500 with the Pentastar and 36 mpg highway. In my mind the Cherokee MUST be at least as good as the RAM. The rating of the Cherokee at launch was 30mpg highway. Wtf?

The Ram with the pentastar is rated for 25 mpg highway, not 36...

That must be a Canadian commercial. The US and Canadian ratings are really not the same!

Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

Ha ha. If a Ram w/ the 3.6L could see 36 MPG(US) I would be back in a truck faster than you could blink. As the other member said the Ram 3.6L is rated at 25 MPG highway.

25 mpg with a US gallon in US commercials (3.78 litres in a US gallon)
36 mpg with a Imperial gallon in Canadian commercials (4.54 litres in an Imperial gallon)

still the math doesn't make sense. 17% more fuel in an Imperial gallon, yet the mpg increases by 30%. Must be some other marketing magic in the numbers.

Is the testing in Canada different than in the US?

Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

I just looked on the RAM truck Canada site and they are in fact advertising the Ram 1500 w/ 3.6L at 36 MPG( 7.8L/100KM )highway( 25 city ). I don't see how the truck has such a higher rating in Canda than the US?

36 MPG( Imperial ) or 7.8L/100KM = 29.9 MPG( US ).

Some real funny math going on up North.

Re: Ordering my TRAILHAWK

It's not funny math, it's different testing procedures.

Canada is still using old EPA test (2 cycles - 60 mph top speed). New EPA test has 3 additional tests to better simulate real-world driving conditions - cold temperature operation test (20F), high speed/quick acceleration test (top speed 80 mph) and an air conditioning test.
