I went out and measured the center to center on my 2006 silverado and they were at 32. Now I have to go over to our storage place and measure the difference between 32 and 37. I know that it will make the corners tighter, especially if the corner is tighter than 90*, but am I worrying without cause??

Thanks for posting this. I read this explanation before but it didn't sink in at the time, or it wasn't worded the same.

So it's not a structural and/or strength issue.

Re: Anyone Use Their KL as a "Toad"?

Array is right on target with reasons that this is a great vehicle to use as a Toad.

I have a 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk and I installed Blue Ox base plates in May of last year. I then went on over than a 3,000 mile vacation with my RV and toad and it did really well. I have Blue Ox Aventa LX tow bar and I never noticed any problems with tight turns. When I got the tow bar, I don't think the issue with the tight turns was known so I am so glad that I had gotten the Aventa LX.

I use the Blue Ox Patriot BK2010 brake controller which works well.
This toad is really easy to hook up and to unhook and tows like a dream. I have been very, very pleased with towing. Plus we were able to drive some Jeep trails in Colorado and Utah while on vacation so it is very versatile with good gas mileage too.

Check this post for some good information on installing Blue Ox base plates and also if you were to use different base plates. I have some information and pics there on my installation.

Also checkout my photo album of my installation.

I am looking forward to another RV trip with the Trailhawk in Tow

FWIW, we just had a RoadMaster system installed on our Cherokee.
All we needed was the base plate installed as we had a JK that we traded for the Cherokee.
Just got back from a short trip up the coast and it pulled great.
