Like I mentioned on my welcome note, I'm not really here to troll for sales, but help out and learn a little more from the users....learn the things we don't cover in the classes or brochures.

But, fact that my dealership has tremendous allocation lets me see a lot of configurations first hand. If someone's looking for a specific color combo, in the flesh, let me know and I'll snap a pic. I did read, and am familiar with TOU agreements, so folks please don't jeopardize my standing or ask me to cross a line.

That said, I will configure a build and give you MSRP pricing, take a pic, and offer general updates for things like Cherokee and diesel releases.
That's my take exactly. Not trolling for sales, helping the conversation and learning a few things from the owners of the vehicles we all love. If someone wants to interact with me as a dealer they are welcome to contact me in appropriate ways.

Closest dealer to me that even lists a couple as "coming soon" confirmed today that they will not be there until mid-November. I have got to test drive before I buy and the wait is just brutal.

Oh yeah, hi I'm new. Nice forum ya' got here.

Hi! A bunch of folks around here seem pretty new. I'm pretty new myself. Where are you located?

Parrish, FL

The dealer is about 50 miles away in Lakeland.

Nice to see I'm not the only one obsessed with this vehicle, most people I know don't seem to get it.

Re: Are dealers ordering these?

So I just heard this morning from a Cherokee assembly worker that there is now a hold on delivery due to some shifting issues, and they're planning on re-checking almost every unit already built...looking more like early to mid October now.

The smart thing would be to release the units, issue a service bulletin, and prepare a dealer fix kit or download. All this is doing is killing momentum and pushing people to competitors who have decided to align their purchasing time-frame to coincide with this launch. I'm sure we'll sell all of our units, but we'll just lose some folks to Ford, Honda, and Toyota.

That is not what I wanted to hear. Mine was finished yesterday. It may explain why it has not been released from Inspection status yet. Oh well, the longer it takes for delivery the more $$$ I will have for the down payment.

I wonder if this is the same issue they were reporting with the 2.4 or if it is a new issue?

I heard it was a transmission issue. Secondhand info, but I'll try to check into it a little more.

Based on the information that MOTS has currently, mine is sitting in the storage lot at the train yard.

Re: Are dealers ordering these?

Heard from another dealership in FL that they were supposed to be arriving "on or about" the 26th of this month! Hopefully the guy had updated delivery info.

Re: Are dealers ordering these?

Here's the real deal from a guy who actually makes the part involved/causing in the problem...The torque converter/transmission unit has some type of a thrust shaft that is slightly oversized thus not allowing the transmission to properly shift into drive with a minimal amount of force. He described it being similar in operation to a throwout bearing, but it is definitely a shaft the interlocks into the torque converter. I'm not a mechanic, so that's my best description.

The problem is being researched at the supplier level, and the likely fix is that the units will be shipped with a dealer fix kit in the passenger seat to be installed before the units go on the lot.

Since the guy works on the line & has 25+ years in the plant, I'd say his take is beyond repute.

In plain speak, it shifts into drive too hard for the company's liking....and there's an engineer who couldn't.

Another reason I want to drive BEFORE I order.
