I'm about 6', 200lbs and fairly broad shouldered, with "farmer's hips" as my wife calls them - think like Barry Sanders - not near your specs, though. I was in a CRV, an Escape, Rav-4, and 3 different Cherokees. My personal feelings are that the CRV "felt" like it had the most room, but only because the Cherokee kind of wrapped around me. Not that the seat bolsters were in my sides, just that the controls and steering wheel seemed to be perfectly positioned like a cockpit.
I wish my internet connection was faster...I live in the sticks and have wireless internet or dial-up as my choices. There are a few ready to go, but I'll have to put them in order and edit them real quick. Maybe about 8 or so the first batch will be up.
I am also interested to hear how the fit was for the "big" guy. I can't wait to sit in one to see if I can be comfortable. We have the Seattle Auto Show coming up in a week so I am hopeful they will have one that I can get in. Or will it just be on a pedestal and not accessible?
I have been in an Escape and CRV and am not very comfortable. There is enough leg room but it seems like my knees rest uncormfortably against the center stack or the door and just nothing I could deal with if I owned one.
I will probably look at a Grand Cherokee if the Cherokee doesn't pan out.
The leg room in the back seat is okay, but would be nice if it was a bit more, at least with my front seat all the way back.
Thanks for the information... just joined the site today.
