We've been in Florida since Nov 3 and our Limited was delivered about 3 weeks ago and has been sitting in our garage sight unseen to Dear Wife (it is her car). Of course I've seen all the stories of shipments and sales on this forum but I was beginning to wonder what was going on since the only new Cherokees I've seen are sitting on a dealer's lot in Bradenton. Had not seen even one on the street (did see a white Limited in June and a black one in August but they were test units around Windsor).
Last night we headed to Sarasota for a concert. Got on to I-75 and then realized I'd forgotten my glasses (really need them for reading only). So, we stopped at a Dollar Tree not far from the concert and I bought a buck pair of magnifiers. When we were walking out of the store I looked across the parking lot (Home Depot and many other stores in this shopping area) and was almost positive I could see a Cherokee. I didn't say a word to my wife. We got into the Town & Country and I drove right over to it. I stopped next to it (dark but lots of lights in this lot) and said "there it is dear." She asked "there is what?." I said YOUR CAR dear, YOUR CAR. Well, hers is white and this Limited was white. She felt it was gorgeous. We head home this weekend and next Monday I have to spend the morning with her and the car going through all the goodies because hers has them all.
A few days ago I recorded the Motor Week review and she was very impressed but not excited. Last night she agreed with their comment - it looks a lot better in the flesh than in photos or video. Now she is excited to get home and drive it. I'm jealous as even though my T&C has all the options, it doesn't come close to hers (just have to correct that issue). Until now she was really seemed uninterested and I had the feeling she "couldn't care less" about a new car as she really liked her Escape Limited.
We will drive it back to Florida in January and she insists that I drive when we travel. So at least I will be using it until the end of February.
