Looking at your Delivery est. it is now 12/30.
Mine was kicked forward from 12/18 to 12/23 today also.
So I do think that the snow storm slowed it up a bit.
My dealer expects it in by the end of week or earlier.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

Yeah, when I called Jeep last week they told me the estimated shipping date was 12/20 and the estimated arrival date was 12/30, so nothing has changed on that front yet. I'm just getting antsy and anxious waiting to get out of D1 status in the hopes I'll have it by New Year's. Hopefully the snow storms don't delay them by any more than a couple of days. Good luck

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

So, my Trailhawk has just been sitting there since 12/28. Milous said it had future movements scheduled for 1/6 to be loaded on the railcar for a 1/14 delivery at the dealer. I called the dealer a few days ago to ask a question about my pricing and financing, and since my salesperson wasn't in, the sales manager called me back and gave me the same info Milous did, without ever answering any of the questions I had (He left me a voicemail). He said it was scheduled to be loaded yesterday and arrive on the 14th. I know these are all estimates, but it is really trying my patience since it did not get loaded yesterday and has been sitting there for 10 days not doing anything. Plus my original delivery date was 12/30. Ugh, I don't have the patience for this!! lol

The weather I am sure has a lot to do with it......
I was D1 on 11/20 and I at 12/12. Looks close to yours time spacing.
I was shipped 12/15 for 12/18 delivery on truck. Then 5 days later reshipped for a 12/23 delivery!??? It arrived 12/23.
There was some snow around that time for the delay but nothing like you are dealing with now. The whole shipping process backs up real bad with just one storm. There have been several the last 10 days.
Imagine the shipping shuts down for a day or two in the middle of the storm. Then it takes time to clean up.... and delays compound.
That's the joy of factory orders. This last one was the 3rd time and I'm still impatient.
You will get your Hawk soon. Just pray for no more snow till you get your Hawk.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

This is normal especially with the holidays and other things, things will get backed up.

The plant was offline yesterday because of a level 3 snow emergency (nobody allowed on the roads). Things will spool back up and get back to normal soon.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

I figured the weather most likely had something to do with it. I'm trying to be patient as I'm sure there are reasons why it's being delayed, and most if not all of those reasons are probably out of the realm of control of the people working there, but it's still not easy. It doesn't help that I needed to talk with my salesperson about financial stuff and she is on vacation, and the sales manager called me back and left me a voicemail that absolutely did not tell me anything I wanted to know.

I almost wish I could change what dealership my Trailhawk was going to so I could buy it from a different one. This is the second car I'm buying from this dealer and I was not happy with the process when I bought my '13 Dart Limited. I told them when I test drove it that a tire pressure sensor needed replacing, and they told me it would be done when I picked it up, and it wasn't. Plus it had less than a quarter tank of gas. Every dealer I've ever bought from always gave me a full tank of gas when I picked the car up. I only used them again this time cuz they were the only ones offering the financing I wanted.

It sounds like you are really frustrated. I know the feeling! One thing builds on another thing and before you know it there are more issues.
Phone tag is real common, I went through it with my Jeep. Dealer blew it with the sensor and the gas. Someone told me that with the price of gas some dealers are not filling it up any more. Mine filled it up when I picked it up 12/26. So I guess it comes down to the dealer. Those are minor issues in the total package of your car buying process.
#1. You got the Cherokee you want, the way you want!
#2. You got the price you wanted. You will always think you could have done better on price. Then look at #1 again.
#3 You got the financing you wanted!
Your Cherokee will arrive and all your issues will be forgotten.
Here is your prescription:
#1. Do not call the dealer for 1 week to 10 days unless your tracking shows its on the truck to the dealer. That is unloaded from the rail car.
#2. Follow the Jeep Garage tracking. The dealer follows virtually the same tracking system. He does not have a crystal ball.
#3. Any other matters can be handled at the point of the delivery to the dealer and when you pick it up. Believe or not the dealer does want to get the $$$'s in the till as fast as you want the car.
The day is almost upon you Dark Hawk! Relax and plan that special rock climbing trip.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

I didn't call the dealer asking for info about the Cherokee, I called them about some of the financials of the purchase. I haven't actually paid them anything other than a $500 deposit yet or signed any paperwork. They were supposed to email me with the actual numbers of my trade in value among other things and they haven't. I emailed my salesperson more than 2 weeks ago and got no response, so I finally called. I'm trading in my '13 Dart Limited and at the time they said it was too new and couldn't give me a definite value on it.

I get that gas costs a lot, but nonetheless, if I'm spending close to $40k on a vehicle, I expect it to come with a full tank of gas and everything to be working properly. You can be sure I will be checking the Selecterrain knob and button, looking underneath, and verifying that all the TSB's and Uconnect updates have been done before I take possession.

Jeepster,
Here is the thing I believe us with frustrations are having. Using mine as an example. Checking the lasted MOTS tracking a Cherokee Trailhawk built 2 weeks after my build and it's in shipment and on a rail car. It went KZ 4 days after build. While my ordered Cherokee Trailhawk is still sitting in a MI lot pending inspection with absolutely no movement or updates in 3+ weeks, 4+ weeks since build. The natural feeling is something is wrong. I think us that are looking at weeks and weeks on a lot can understand differences of cars that are within a few days to possibly a week of another. But this weeks and weeks compared to days is hard to understand and not get frustrated with. I have only visited my dealer once because they are as frustrated with the none movement as I am.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

Chrysler is wrong in not communicating these delays, which seem to be increasing in time. Chrysler should be letting the dealers know many days the shipments are running behind. Believe me Chrysler knows this number! If the dealer is not communicating with you (your the customer) then they are failing in Chrysler's 100% satisfaction Goal. If they are not letting you know about delays or answering your calls/e-mails in a timely manner then they fail in the 100% satisfaction goal.
Remind your dealers of this. The dealers district manager could probably find this delay time out for the dealer. I am sure they would not be happy with 1 or 2 stars on their rating you have to give the dealer. They also know the sale is not sealed till the cash goes on the table.
I guess I got lucky and my dealer was very good at communicating with me and call backs for the most part. My Cherokee also started to get delayed toward the end of the shipping cycle. Orig. 12/18 delivery on truck to dealer then on 12/18 revised to 12/23 on truck to dealer. There was snow during this time. Not a bad delay but going to your situations its gotten very bad. The system I am sure is all backed up. A little communication would go along way on Chrysler's and the dealers part.
If I pissed the two of you off I apologize for that. I have no chance against 2 Trail Hawks!

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

Jeepster not mad at all. I have heard from several sources what you were saying that they know exactly what's going on at all the times with a vehicle. If tracking is going to be provided by Chrysler. Then communicate the long delays when estimated dates aren't met, within a reasonable window, to the customer through emails and or through the dealer. I don't blame Jeep Garage because it's an outside service that these guys are probably doing at some risk with the information.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

Okie said it perfectly. All I want is for Chrysler to give me some info. Hell, I never even got any of the emails I was supposed to get when the status changed in VOTS, despite being reassured when I called Chrysler that my email had been entered and I would get them.

On another note, I called my dealership again on Monday and left a message for the sales manager to call me back so I could talk to him about some stuff unrelated to the tracking of the Jeep, and have still not gotten a phone call back. They will def not be getting good ratings on a customer survey.
