Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

I did appreciate an added line on mine today from Milous. On Hold 1/7/14 now it just states what mine has been doing for 4 weeks and nothing has changed. If I just knew what it being on hold means in relationship to my order since it's been built and hasn't finished inspection. I personally think something is wrong with the car which makes me very skeptical about taking it. We shall see.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

That sucks, but at least you've gotten something. Mine hasn't had any updates now since Dec 28th, yet somehow the delivery date is still Jan 14th. Unless they have mastered teleporter technology, I think it's pretty safe to say that the delivery date doesn't mean a damn thing. Between this delay and my actual salesperson and sales manager not returning my phone calls for over a week now, I'm seriously considering telling them to give me my deposit back and I'll go somewhere else.

There was a glimmer of hope this morning. Shannon_NY's went off hold after last nights report and is on a truck to dealer after sitting in the mud stuck! Maybe the hamster got some new food and the wheel is spinning a little faster.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

That would be nice. I was really hoping my delivery date would be right because I have 3 days off from work, and that fell right in the middle of them. I could've had a whole day off to drive around and have fun. I hope yours starts moving soon. If I end up like you with 3 straight weeks of nothing, I might lose my mind.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

The weather has absolutely played havoc with plant schedules and shipping. TNAP, Supplier park, and even JNAP were closed or at reduced capacity for a few days. Things are starting to get back to normal.

Monday will be decision day. If my order is still sitting dormant a visit to the dealer and a serious thought of canceling. Toyota and Nissan now on the playing field. Have a great weekend in your new Cherokees for those that have received them. For those waiting don't drink to heavily.

Okiehawk -

I understand & share your frustration. I really do. I ordered mine on 11/26 and was told 4-6 weeks by the dealer. After I started reading these forums, I knew that was a pipe dream. The lack of communication is the worst. I mean, I can order a $5 item from amazon & know EXACTLY where it is in the process at all times. You would think a $30k+ Item would have a more robust communication & tracking method. I have had some moments where I thought if this purchase was a mistake.

All that being said, I think it still comes back to the product. Let's just pretend that jeep was upfront with you on the wait time. They told you it would be 10 weeks or you could get a Toyota or Nissan in 4 weeks. What would you do? It still comes back to the product. I wouldn't let this get in the way if this is the vehicle you really want. The worst would be to buy a car you don't want & then see a trail hawk driving down the road and saying "what if".....

Just my 2 cents. On a side note - I bought this vehicle without my wife & that did not go over well at first. After she drove it on the lot, she loved it which I knew would happen. The thing is she said she was going to give me hell about it until the vehicle actually arrived. I was thinking, "ok, I can deal with that for 4 weeks". Not so much. This has been a brutal wait....stick in there.

I was told 6-8 weeks when ordered. Next week will be week 9 since order and week 5 since build and sitting in a hold dormant inspection phase on a lot in Taylor, MI. Getting my order through inspection and not on it's way going on 5 week is just not settling well with this long time Jeep owner. I really feel something is wrong with this vehicle and they aren't being honest with information. If not then Chrysler has serious efficiency and organizational problems with getting ordered cars to their buyers. It's very upsetting to see Cherokees that are ordered/built after mine and others buy weeks getting movement to their buyers. I also think politics may be going on with bigger named dealers in pushing their orders past others. Believe me I have owned Nissan and my father a Toyota and there is no drop in quality.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

I am now just about in the 2 week range of no status updates, yet it still shows a 1/14 delivery date. That, plus the fact that I keep getting the run around from my dealer when I call them about other issues has me on the verge of cancelling my order as well. I kind of wish I could somehow change what dealership my Trailhawk would be delivered to and just buy it from a different one. I keep leaving messages for the sales manager to call me back because I want to talk about things like the value on my trade in, and he keeps calling back just to tell me that my Cherokee is scheduled to be delivered on the 14th. Idiot.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

So, I just called the Jeep customer service number, and they told me that my new Estimated Delivery Date is now Jan 23rd. Almost a month later than my original date of Dec 30th. The frustration level of this plus the idiot sales manager at my dealership who can't ever seem to call back when he says he will or answer any of the questions I want to ask about the financials really has me seeing red.

I guess on the bright side at least some news on the shipping front is good news.

Darkhawk I am moving forward with possible second options today. Drove the Toyota Highlander and Nissan Extera today. Liked them both but the Highlander will probably get the nod when D Day comes next week. There are quit a few the way I want it at dealers here to choose from. Hope your wait and new date proves to be accurate. I have lost faith and think my order has problems. Have a good weekend.

By now I would have traded in that wife, for sure.

Okie (hi neighbor), if you still like the Cherokee better than the Highlander and are not in a bind for a vehicle, my vote would be to wait patiently. OTOH, I have a 2008 Highlander and it has been a very, very good vehicle... or it was until this past summer, when it seemed like most of the seals in the engine compartment started leaking. To be fair, it's at 150k+ miles. But that is why I'm looking at a GC diesel, possibly this summer.
