I haven't bought a vehicle service contract since. (But for a $45k Jeep I am interested in one!)

Back in the mid '80s I bought a 'lifetime' service contract on a new Dodge Omni from the dealer. It was with some rinky-dink 3rd party, though. I was young and inexperienced. Well, when the tranny went out a second time and the car by this time had around 150,000 miles on it, the provider basically said, "Sorry, you have exceeded the projected lifetime of the vehicle and the repair is not covered." There wasn't enough contact info in the contract for me to even locate them physically... it just had a toll free number. Lesson learned at the school of hard knocks. I haven't bought a vehicle service contract since. (Although for a $45k vehicle I would like one!)
From what I understand is that the contract ends when the repair cost exceeds the vehicle value. That is at least 10 years + down the road. Mine is the official Chrysler service contract. It will show up in your Jeep owners connect account and will show dates and mileage that are insane.

The only thing that terminates the plan is if the value of the vehicle is less than the needed repairs. So if you bring it in worth $2K, and need $3k worth of work, then they pay you the $2k you vehicle is worth and the plan is over.
Plenty of info online if you do searches, as long as it is a chrysler factory warranty (not 3rd party) it is legit.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

After 30+ plus days of no information I put my foot on the gas hard this week. Car is undeliverable and a new one is being hot framed next week. That is all because the words I would love to say and not fit for public consumption.

No, I was just told by the dealer they told them there was a group of about 30 that had an issue. Dealer just guessing thought it may have been a paint or trim thing and not mechanical since it did go through the line to inspection. The manager did not tell me about the group of cars in my phone call.

Communication F-
There is no excuse that on a customer order for a 30+ day delay because of issues with the Cherokee, Chrysler or thru dealer, could not inform you.

I would at this point write a polite and to the point letter to the CEO of Chrysler explaining what happened and what the company needs to do to improve on its customer awareness issues and its communication.
It will work!

Damn Okie, that is ridiculous! I can't understand how such a large company like this can have such a lack of communication. I hope they speed it through the process quickly with no more issues.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

Are you sure that "a large company with good communication" isn't an oxymoron? The more layers of management, departments, and divisions a company has, the more opportunities exist for the ball to be dropped.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

Yes it is being fast tracked or hot framed as they call it. The new vin already shows production scheduled and I was told by the Chrysler/Jeep Exec. that it would be built next week. Plus he said he would personaly track it and call or email me as it goes through the stages. Plus he told me with the Cherokee there is not a different inspection for some cars pulled out. He said in a new model car like the Cherokee thay all get 100% QC inspections. Only models that have been in production for some time are random vehicles pulled out for QC.

Re: Build or Delivery Date estimates

Hello,

My order date was 11/30.
It has been sitting in production scheduled for 4 weeks.
From a person within Chrysler it was supposed to go in production on 1/12... but still nothing..
Any idea what might be going on?
Any place where I can accurate information.

Your email you got when it went into production scheduled probably said "it could be in that state for up to 2 weeks" that is one of the misleading things about MOTS. I was in the production scheduled state for 4 weeks before it went into build. So 4 weeks + is more the window before build starts.
