Re: Canadian Pricing for 2014 Cherokee

You're right. I think the Escape is the sales leader right now in that segment, but I can see the 2014 Cherokee taking sales away. I hope the Lux Package offers HID's in Canada. That will put it head to head against the Escape Titanium which has HID'S.

I just traded a 2011 Escape Limited AWD for a Cherokee Limited with almost all options. The Cherokee has a HUGE advantage over the Escape - with Active Drive Ii it can be flat towed behind a Motorhome.

The earlier Escapes were towable but they were burning out transmissions by the dozens. We were using our Motorhome less and less for this reason. IMO RVers are going to love the Cherokee.

Simple. Dealer had a printout of the list prices and employee prices and we selected our options and they deducted the value we negotiated for the Escape. They will be altering one of their existing orders for inventory for our options. Given the current delay, I guess there is no way of knowing when we will get it.

I was about 2 minutes from signing a deal for an Edge (which has not had the same transmission problems as the Escape when being towed) when I stopped and decided I really wanted a transfer case for towing. The Escape transmission fluid has reached 200 degrees when being towed (used a ScanGauge II). Previously we towed a Tahoe and Colorado with no problems because they had transfer cases. The Edge was a 2013 (don't know when 2014 will be out) and price was $2k higher and some of the options on the Cherokee were not available on the Edge. Also, we may switch to a travel trailer in a couple of years and the Cherokee has a Class III receiver vs Class II for the Edge.

Ah I see, makes sense. I did a similar deal for my Grand in January, but they took my car because they had a buyer and gave me a demo loaner... Your cherokee may arrive before my Diesel Grand!

I hope so. Would love to get the base plates on.

Diesel. Interesting - nice. Now, are you trading the Durango? If so, why? I also have a 2012 Town & Country Limited (traded a Flex Limited AWD for it and the Flex was VERY good but I needed much more room to haul stuff to Florida in the winter). When it comes time to trade the T&C I was thinking about a Durango.

Did you not like it? It appeared to me to be a huge improvement over the previous generation.

The Durango is very nice and more than a huge improvement over the prior generation.

The Durango is a dealership loaner, they wanted my Mercedes on the lot to sell, so we set out an agreement.

Re: Canadian Pricing for 2014 Cherokee

Thanks.

I've been wondering if I'd go for the 3.6 or the 5.7 and if we decide to unload our motorhome and go for a trailer I can't help but think the 5.7 hemi would be the best bet.
