My jeep chimes periodically. What is it telling me?

Re: Chimes

Welcome to the garage.
Which jeep/year do you have? When does it chime?

2015 Cherokee Limited. Chimes soon after starting and sometimes when I stop.
Thought maybe the first one had to do with U connect but not sure about anything.
Have a great day!

Re: Chimes

Maybe some MY 2015 owners can chime in, because i donīt know this jeep. If nobody responses here, try it in the WK2 section.
A good day to you as well.

Parking brake on? Possibly on as far as the system is concerned but not really on?
That is one chime source.

Re: Chimes

A Few Possibilities:

The ORC turns on the Air Bag Warning Light in the
instrument panel for approximately four to eight seconds
for a self-check when the ignition is first placed in the
ON/RUN position. After the self-check, the Air Bag
Warning Light will turn off. If the ORC detects a malfunction
in any part of the system, it turns on the Air Bag
Warning Light, either momentarily or continuously. A
single chime will sound to alert you if the light comes on again after initial startup.

The BSM system will provide a visual alert in the
appropriate side view mirror based on a detected object.
If the turn signal is then activated, and it corresponds to
an alert present on that side of the vehicle, an audible
chime will also be sounded. Whenever a turn signal and
detected object are present on the same side at the same
time, both the visual and audio alerts will be issued. In
addition to the audible alert the radio (if on) will also be
muted.

“Clean Front Windshield” Warning
The “ACC/FCW Limited Functionality Clean Front
Windshield” warning will display and also a chime will
indicate when conditions temporarily limit system performance.
This most often occurs at times of poor visibility,
such as in snow or heavy rain and fog. The ACC
system may also become temporarily blinded due to
obstructions, such as mud, dirt, or ice on windshield and
fog on the inside of glass. In these cases, the EVIC/DID
will display “ACC/FCW Limited Functionality Clean
Front Windshield” and the system will have degraded
performance.

If you download the owners manual and search the word "chime" you can see all the instances that might set off a chime. There are many.

Re: Chimes

If it does a double beep beep at the same place on the road every day as mine did, I realized it was the warning for the change of a speed zone from say 100km/h to 80km/h, I found I could not turn it off in the navigation settings, I could only turn the sound of the voice guidance down and therefore the beep beep sound went down as well.............oh mine is a 2105 JGC SRT
