Re: Consumer Reports Can't Recommend Cherokee, Calls It Half Baked

They always zero in on fuel eco of American cars and harp on that but other Japanese cars that are within 1 mpg are the greatest thing ever. They love the Honda Ridgeline because it rides like a car but every American large pickup has a V8 version with the same economy as the anemic 6 cyl in the Honda but they love the Honda. I read CR because they do give you things to think about before a major purchase but if I listened to them I would not have a JK. Everybody who gets in my JK loves it and the fact that it is not a mom mobile.

Today's news:

Jeepís U.S. sales, propelled by the redesigned Cherokee, set a monthly record of 59,754 units and have now advanced 30 percent or more for six consecutive months.

Eat your heart out CR!

Wow! Is that really 30% over every month, or for the six months? Either way, with as many as I see on the road anymore (all Jeep models combined), I'm betting the manufacturing capacity is maxed out, or nearly there. Seems to me Chrysler needs to think about investing in another plant to keep up with demand.

CR can suck it! Honda biotches. Japanese butt whores! 53,000 buyers can't be wrong, can they?

Re: Consumer Reports Can't Recommend Cherokee, Calls It Half Baked

Here is what Tom Voelk, NY Times' reviewer had to say on this:

"Consumer Reports is widely considered a bible of sorts when it comes to car-buying advice. The magazine praised the 2014 Jeep Cherokee for its solid feel, quiet cabin and ease of access, but criticized the handling and transmission. Ultimately, it declined to recommend the vehicle.

This, apparently, means nothing to buyers. The Cherokee is Jeep's top-selling model. Chrysler factories can't keep up with demand."
