I agree. It is a no brainer. Have the engine swapped and take the free warranty. Much shorter wait for you as well.

It should be ok. Plus since it will be covered bumper to bumper. It would be a plus.
The engine compartment is an absolute nightmare to work in.

If they were to offer returning it to Jeep to have the work done, I'd be inclined to take them up on it.

Doing it at a dealer--other than the very few dealers with a lot of really careful mechanics, I'd chicken out and try another vehicle.

Ask them if they'd trade you for a Hemi.

Hope this engine thing is not an epidemic.
We loyalists tend to be more tolerant, but if Chrysler wants to win over brand new customers this ain't good.

There is nothing alarming or unusual that en engine failed. Sucks for the OP but it is nothing to worry about on a large scale( at this time ). It is a mechanical assembly and sometimes they just fail. Can be a bad part or a bad assembly. Every car mfg on the planet has had it happen.

My Sister had a 3.5L V6 in her new 2006 Chevy Impala fail at short miles( was between 5 and 6 K ). GM sent a brand new engine assembly right off the line( like the OP will get ). Her car ran just fine after she got it back. Just as I believe the OP's will if he goes that route.

I most certainly agree with you. But it seems other manufacturers 'get away' with those kind of things without any "PR" damage. (Toyota is a good example....with all their recalls....they are still media darlings)
Yet when it comes to Chrysler....it gets negatively amplified a million times. Why Chrysler ?...I don't know. It's the way it is.

I have a theory on that. It starts with publications. Toyota gets good reviews quite consistently on almost every car and truck they sell. That translates into good media. Where as chrysler has not always had good reviews in recent years. ( see dodge nitro, sloppy transmissions, poor interior quality of the early to mid 2000's) this creates a poor public image of the brand and it dont help matters when they took bailout money. Has chrysler improved its products? Most certainly they have made vast improvements. All of the big publishers are and have been giveing good reviews in recent years. The only one to still give poor reviews is consumer reports and unfortunately there are a lot of people who take them seriously.

Reorder or get another limited that has everything you want PLUS ask to throw in 100k warranty for your troubles. The factory is going to install that motor better than a mechanic IMO.

Someone on here said shoot for the stars...I would and agree.
