EVIC audio menus

Hi there,

I'm a newbie - just picked up new 2014 Limited yesterday. Absolutely loving it! I just traded in my 2007 RAV4 Limited, and this is just so much better in almost every way.

I just had niggly question regarding the audio menus on the EVIC. Mine only seems to show the input (iPod, Aux, etc) in the cluster, but does not list the track info (title/artist). I was sure that this was a feature, but perhaps I'm mis-remembering? I also don't seem to have any submenus under the audio option on the EVIC either - is this correct? I believe I read in one of the menus that you just pressed left or right when you reached the audio option to go into the submenus, but they don't seem to exist on my Jeep. Just want to be sure before I start sending my dealer on a goose chase.

If this is what is normal though, the audio option on the EVIC would seem to be really limited in that case. I know that other cars we test drove had the audio info on their version of the EVIC and it seems like a straightforward transfer of info from the uConnect system. I really liked the additional audio information in the main cluster as it kept me from looking at the main screen all the time.

(I've also updated the uConnect system to the recent firmware update, and have a Canadian model, if that helps.)

Thanks for any help in advance!
-e.

Re: EVIC audio menus

Very little info in cluster. Pretty much just mode.

Before sending dealer on a wild goose chase, why not introduce yourself to the manual. You should have gotten the radio manual with the vehicle. All the manuals can be downloaded from Jeep.com.

Re: EVIC audio menus

Thanks for the confirmation. I had actually introduced myself to the user guide that came with the vehicle and the owners manual online. The references to the audio option on the EVIC were in there but didn't describe what info was available. Further, one manual (I can't recall which) referenced sub menus on the EVIC audio menu, which I didn't seem to have.

Edited to add: mine did not come with the radio manual. I have looked that up online as well but it didn't seem to detail the EVIC display, although I could be missing it.

Re: EVIC audio menus

I'm not sure what you expect to find in sub menus. The 'audio' soft key should bring you to balance/fade/surround options.

I mostly listen to FM and SD, so after setting things up a year ago I left them alone. Now I'll have to push some buttons next time I'm in the Jeep, because you got me curious.

Re: EVIC audio menus

OP;

Not all of the EVIC options have a submenu. I think you are tilting at windmills here.

Bill_De,

OP is referencing EVIC. Are you referencing the 8.4 display?

Actually both, but I do tend to call the 8.4 the EVIC and refer to the EVIC as the cluster.

My mistake. I'll be more careful, 'cause I don't want anybody else to be as confused as I often am.

Seriously, thanks for pointing it out.
