127 days now from The year 2013 on December 14th ,,,slapping the deposit down and ordering to D Status January 18 th 2014 . Ive had a vin number since January 18th . . . and a delivery date of sometime in 2014 ??????
He just says Im sorry I dont know what to tell you .We are not the only Dealer in this boat .
There are lots of Chrysler dealers waiting with nothing in stock to sell.
They are getting very little information out of their Reps.
The last conversation the Rep hinted at April but that doesn't look like its going to happen .
I know of a few case where the people got tired of waiting and went for the Nissan Rogue and Ford Escape .
I guess if you want the best you have to wait . .
Yes Nothing makes sense ?? The 08 Challengers didn't even take this long ? One theory I heard was that these are in big demand over in Europe ,,and seeing as though Chrysler is owned by Italy .....maybe a bunch are pushing in line & getting a boat ride ... Things that make you go HMMMM ...
I was just told by jeep chat that you should not be in D Status for more than 30 days. Apparently I have been in D status for 18 days and there must be a part they are still waiting for.
I was told the same (30days). But I was also told that i am in that status now for around 35 days (don't heave the exact number of days with me right now). How frustrating is that.
I thought about that too ,, But D Status means FIRM SCHEDULE ==DEALER HAS ALLOCATION ====ALL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE !!!!! Maybe we are being lied too and there is a BIG PROBLEM with a major component .. Remember the 9 spd problem in the Fall ,,,,, Maybe its worse than we were being told .. But ,Big problems are pretty hard to hide from the Press. But shipping a ton of them overseas would be very easy .. Nobody would pay attention to Trucks and Trains moving vehicles all over the Country . They would just assume they are going to Dealerships ...........
I ordered my TH on Sept 23, and am still in "BX" status - not yet D1. When I asked my dealer about how long this normally takes.. he told me the following:
The panoramic sunroof causes a bit of a delay, because there is currently some regulatory issue with it, and they have to make some updates/changes to it prior to building them into the vehicles. So all new builds with the panoramic sunroof are "waiting to be scheduled" because they are waiting for the sunroofs to be 'adjusted'.
This is a similar issue to the delays that were happening before with the "Tech package" in the 2014 builds.. there were some back ordered parts, and they couldn't start begin "D1" until all the parts are available.
I don't know what's true or not, but that's what my dealer told me.
