..........and have been since the day I ordered my C-TH. But my anxiety is getting worse.
It was built on 1/22 (a nice hump day build).
VOTS has shown it as "Final Inspection" status since 1/22
MOTS has shown it as "Pending Inspection" since 1/22 with no plant release.
MOTS shows it as "In Bay At Facility" since 1/23
.......and today is 1/30.
So what's happening?
Is it getting a top to bottom 7 day inspection?
Is there a problem? :banghead:
Did it get lost in a parallel universe?
Congrats to those who have received and to those about to receive their Jeeps.
My story is similar to that of Mr. Taz ... still waiting for my KL Limited that I ordered last December 13th.
I now realize my order has two strikes against it:
1. I selected Eco Green as the colour;
2. Mine is a Canadian order.
I once had an Estimated Ship Date of March 10 which passed without any change in Status. Just last Monday, the dealer's Inventory and Order Tracking system gave it a new Estimated Ship Date of April 10. I do not expect that to happen either.
I have gone beyond being Impatient. I am simply numb. As Mr. Taz mentioned, Canadian Customer Service cannot track vehicle orders and only tell us to talk with the dealer. The dealer is powerless saying we are at the mercy of the factory. The local Chrysler Rep only tells the dealer my order may be built in April (and he said that in February!!). If I didn't feel that the KL is a superb vehicle that far exceeds the competition, I would not have put up with such disrespect from Chrysler/Jeep. But I have faith that the Cherokee is worth the wait. So wait I continue to do.
And by the way, I have been following this thread since Desert Hiker created it in January. It has been supportive learning of the feelings, frustrations and successes of other buyers; and, I have enjoyed the bantering amongst some. I am glad to have had the likes of CFarer and Gunny on board here even though they were not waiting for a KL model. If being open to all folks waiting for a Jeep is improper for a thread under the KL banner, perhaps move this thread to a global forum. I would still partake in it.
I think you are correct in the two strikes against you, color and location. I hope you do not have to wait too much longer before it is built.
Thanks to you and others on the support. Hopefully Gunny and I have added something other than constant whining, at least on my part. I never even thought it would be an issue. I wonder what would happen if I start commenting on the Dodge Dart my son ordered?
Keep smiling, you will get the Cherokee (sometime in the future)
As the thread's OP, I'm surprised the attention and longevity it's acheived - 328 posts and over 9000 views!!! The thread started as just personal statement and not a rant against Jeep. Now the thread serves as a meeting place and support group for those in similar impatient waiting.
Personally it's OK with me if there are non-Cherokee contributors - after all, they probably have feelings too and may be in need of the same type of community support. Let's just keep out of non-KL vehicle specifics. :slapfight:
To those of you have Jeeps on order ---- hang in there. My Trailhawk has proven worth the wait and the agony of delay. :w00t:
118 days and my Jeep is finally one train stop away from being unloaded in Rolla, Co. From there it's a truck ride up to Spearfish SD and then prep and delivery!!!
Should be a proud Jeep owner is just over 4 months from ordering!!
Ldsoles1066, you are VERY close! Just 60 miles away!
If they can get it unloaded today (very likely) AND if your dealer has a truck there (not that far away) AND your dealer has a good relationship with the Yard (unknown), then they should have it back in Longview by this afternoon, ready to pick up tomorrow morning!
Have you looked at the Reisor Yard using satellite view in Google Maps? Pretty cool - you can see where the satellite caught 1 car being offloaded from a rail car!
UP will at least tell you closer to when it is actually unloaded.
You know how when the UP system gives you the update, and it says the rail-car #, and then "loaded"? When all the cars have been unloaded, that status will change to "Empty - Available for Movement" or something like that. Then you know for sure that your car is "wheels down"!
I don't know what's going on with mine either. My estimated delivery kept getting moved back. It's been unloaded from railcar since 3/24 in Phoenix. Dealer and Jeep Customer Care both tell me that the estimated delivery was yesterday 3/27. No one knows what's going on.
I have been trying to use the UP Trace tool to no success. It tells me there is no equipment record of my car #. Maybe I am doing something wrong with the system, when I was tracking my 09 Challenger we used a web based tracking tool instead of the phone system. My car # is TTGX 985229, I did find some Flicker pictures of the car with some neat tags on it !!
It must be something I am doing wrong. When I get to the trace option and it asks for the car #, if I put in just the car #'s it tells me it can't be found, if I try to say the letters and then enter the #'s it says it can't find the equipment.
Scorpn,
When I first tried to enter in the railcar numbers by keypad it did not work, but after I started just saying all the letters and numbers by voice then it worked. If you say it too fast or too slow then it seems to have a problem with the railcar # so occasionally i have to repeat it or go through the process more than once. You kind of learn how to say it so it understands better.
Good Luck. Sounds like you are close on yours also.
I am waiting for mine to unload and be trucked to dealer.
Starting to wonder what the hold up is with mine as well. Arrived in NJ on Saturday and has been sitting there with an estimated delivery date of today. No changes and it hasn't departed the facility, so I'm guessing a no go for today. Not to mention that it's been pushed back twice already.
Ldsoles, scorpn & jeepgrrl
You are all REAL near to receiving your vehicles, CONGRATULATIONS.
Keep us updated and post photos.
Mine is working fine now, if the weather ever gets warmer I will clean her up and take some photos. Not supposed to be this week though.
Thanks,
119 Days after my original order mine is waiting to be unloaded from the rail-car in Rolla CO. Still has a delivery date of Mon the 31st and hope to get it by Wed.
But we do have another winter storm moving through on Sunday night and Monday so that may hold up the delivery truck.
Well almost 9 weeks have passed and still no movement on my original order ... BUT Good news ...
My dealership had a call from another dealership 300 miles away yesterday and they are looking for a JEEP that my dealer has on order so short story they are "trading" and I should take possession of my KL Limited on or around April 7 ... ONE week away!
The exterior color is Brilliant Black and interior "Vesivio" (Indigo Blue / Brown) ... looks pretty good. The sound system is the "regular one" and not the upgraded ... I will live with that ... and it has a CD player!
Plus there is also the ACTDRIVE II (like the TH) ... a bit more money but what the heck!
The only problem I had is the dealers have an advantage ... they are not budging on price since the "stock" is so rare ... so no deal possible! If I did not take it they have people in line to buy them
So the waiting game is back on but with the difference that I know when it should end!
Still following this thread, just not posting as much.
Ldsoles, I hope everything works out QUICKLY for you. When you get it, shine a light across the hood and look for shadows. Also, pour some water on it and see how it behaves.
Scorpn, This week, looking good. True Blue is awesome, IMHO.
The weather is sh!t this week, so I might be driving the Charger mostly. Would like to get a few "clean" miles before I run the puddles full of winter salt.
They have it - it's actually posted on their website.
I sent them an e-mail, telling them how "surprised" I was to see it there (I knew the VIN, and it's mine). I then asked politely [see, I'm working on the finesse thingy] if it was getting a lot of "test drives".
They responded within 15 minutes that it was not out on the lot, and that they had the keys in their desk drawer for it. And that my car was in their covered storage. Also that they put up every vehicle they receive on their website.
I felt better.
My DUI case this morning walked straight into court with his attorney and plead guilty. Idiot. This hearing today was the only reason I had to defer my trip to Houston! I got him in August of last year. If he had done this earlier, I would be in my Jeep now!!! Grrrr!
Maybe I should drive down there and test drive it also.
Cfarer, I will definitely be looking for any hail damage. Dealer said it will be a Chrysler rep and not some run of the mill adjuster inspecting it so that makes me feel better.
Scorpn, this frozen stuff is not being nice to us at all.
Below is picture of the Hail that one of our troubleman picked up in Marshall area about 30 minutes west of the rail yard.
