GPS on 8.4AN just went bonkers

Not sure what to think at the moment... But this morning the GPS seems to be off by a couple of miles. Was late to get my son to the Orthodontist at a location I had never been to and I was a couple of miles in when I noticed I was driving on roads a couple of miles away and the directions of course were wrong.

Vehicle (KL Limited 3.2) has been fine other than a bit of rough low-gear shifting (nothing too bad) except for today and something a few days ago. I seemed to crash the entire GPS. Started out fine then the screen and the EVIC were frozen. I stopped the car, restarted it, and it seemed to come back.

Anyone else have seen similar issues?

Had the same thing happen while in Big Bear last weekend. Map froze, but all other touchscreen functions worked. Ended up pulling over and turning the Jeep off then on again. Everything worked normally after that.

You can try rebooting the system by pressing and holding the center of two round radio hard knobs(volume & tune) for about five seconds, them give it a half of minute to start reboot.

Happened to me as well today. Had to run to a supply house for work and GPS was off by about 10 miles. Had to use my phone.

Re: GPS on 8.4AN just went bonkers

I have the AN EVIC, and installed the new firmware. The next day, while driving to a town I had only been to once before, i found myself driving through farmers fields, with not an interstate in sight. I parked in a parking lot and hit the 'Assist' button. The lady said she thought there was a button i could hold down while driving a few circles to re-calibrate. She transferred me to a 'specialist' whose best idea was to go to a dealer (at 6 pm on a Saturday in a strange town.) I told him I'll just use my phone and google maps. He tried to get me a GPS specialist but couldn't get one. It was fun listening to his wife and kids holler int he background for 15 minutes. Must be working from home, and doesn't know about a mute button. Ultimately, I just wanted to see how good their support was. It never crossed his mind to power off and power back on. I said "thanks and goodbye" turned off the car, waited about 60 seconds, turned it back on and everything was normal. It's been a week now with no nonoccurrence.
