Great Accessory Idea

What a great accessory they came up with for the new Cherokee with the dog crate. Whoever thought of that is a genius. Not so much the concept as you can get fold down soft travel crates like that anywhere but rather making one for the vehicle specifically and having it be secured to the cargo management system/cargo area floor rings. IMO it deserves

Jeep Cherokee Cargo Management System - Pet Kennel (Part No: 82213729): AllMoparParts.com

I use a similar fold up soft travel crate in my Patriot for my Lab. It is a great thing. Easy to deal with when not in use and easy to setup/take down. However I have always been uncomfortable with it just sitting in the cargo area. In an accident it is going to go flying. Being able to secure it the way the MOPAR one for the Cherokee can be would be ideal.

As time goes on and I see more and more on the new Cherokee the more I am leaning towards replacing the Patriot with one this summer. Even the accessories are well thought out.

I picked one of these up on Friday. They are cool. However they don't come with the mat or the ramp as advertised.

Re: Great Accessory Idea

I ordered a Cargo management Pet Kennel today for my Cherokee.
Also added the Grocery Bag holder kit.
I agree that's a great system they have.

I'm looking at the dog kennel, but have been unable to find out what size it is. Can you send the dimensions? I think it's a great idea too, and love the ability to secure it to the vehicle since we often travel a distance for Agility trials with our dog.

Re: Great Accessory Idea

Never saw a measurement. The photo of it set up in the Cherokee makes it appear it was big enough for my 45lb shepherd mix. I did see a photo some where of a dog in it. It was a larger type dog.
I ordered one form MoparOnlineParts.com. only because they had free shipping with the sale, ($150 min).

Re: Great Accessory Idea

Does anybody know if this will work with a 2014 Grand Cherokee? This would be ideal for my dogs. Crossing my fingers...

GC's cargo area is bigger than a regular Cherokee so it will fit in there. No idea if the tie down straps are long enough to reach the anchors in a GC or if the GC has them in the right place?

The straps are significantly longer than needed for the Cherokee. Hope that helps.
