My 2014 KL still has issues. Again - it all depends on how you drive. If you drive primarily highway, you won't see the issues. The issues are low speed shifting and downshifting. The trans searches and gets confused on what gear to go to.
Additionally it stays in 3rd until you come to a complete stop - never seeing 2nd...huh? Bizarre and UNSAFE!!
I won't buy a Jeep again - unless they fix this mess.
These 3rd gear issues are dangerous. Why? Cause you slow down to 10 MPH (or whatever speed that the thing stays in 3rd) and then if you have to speed up - you have to floor the gas pedal and the KL creeps. All torque because its in 3rd - not downshifting to 2nd. Dangerous.
Additionally, when I come to my driveway, I slow down to go over the curb. Then I speed up to get up the driveway (very very small incline) and the trans kicks - because it has no clue on what gear to get into. It's confused.
Totally not acceptable for a $40K vehicle.
But I do see a new TSB. http://www.wk2jeeps.com/Misc/Cheroke..._21_012_16.pdf
Looks like Jeep is finally figuring out there are indeed issues!! So YES - there are still issues.
