Alan Mulally was on CNBC the other day talking about how he was trying to change that image. Maybe Fiat can design something for them.

Re: Heres the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

2005 liberty owner here. Was waiting to see this as I'm interested in getting a new ride. Plain and simple I could not own that vehicle. No way in hell. Showed it to my wife and she grimaced (would be my vehicle, just getting her reaction). Edgey is one thing, especially in a low buck vehicle (Juke/Soul), but really this is the look for a vehicle that will quickly get into the 30s? And some are saying the look will grow on you... I really think you'll just grow to dislike it more. Just very disappointing.

There aren't enough words to describe the Cherokee, well maybe three... what the hell?

that is nothing like a Juke...but it takes a design chance like the Juke, Escape etc.

Please read what people are saying....he's not saying it looks like an evoque. Just an alternative.

And the MKC is for old people......LINCOLN=Old people! Thats all you see driving them!
The MKC isn't even out yet. It's purely a concept, and the whole point of it is to appeal to a younger demographic.

Not that there's anything wrong with appealing to people 55+. Demographics wise, they have the money.

You must be blind if you can't see the similarities between this Cherokee and the Juke.

And what exactly do you mean by "put some cash where your mouth blabs"? I already have my Overland WK2. Not quite sure what you're getting at.

Re: Heres the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Jeep tried to make a Cherokee with the Patriot and most recent Liberty. Nothing will replace the XJ. This is an attempted attack on a market segment (CUV) that has progressed forward and left the Compass and Patriot in the dust. I think that there will be enough people out there for this Cherokee to do well in sales. If it does well, the FJ may need to watch it's back (re: Trailhawk edition).

Re: Heres the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

The design is far from "elegant" and I won't defend the crimped grill, but this isn't the first time a Cherokee came with stacked headlights:

Good idea and I'm done with this topic too. In two years when they rollout the emergency redo I'll look again if my money isn't already spent on a non-Jeep vehicle.

With that look, it sure will help the sales of the 2013s!

I'd be surprised if Sergio lets this abomination hit the market. I bet Friday was a very bad day for the design team and everyone involved on that car, and Monday won't be any better.

I'm expecting them to say that this was a concept, and to delay launch by a few months or a year to fix the front end. Better to admit the mistake and correct it than to have these eyesores on the road ruining your image.
