Re: Heres the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

WORST design to come out of Chrysler in many many years. Why they used the Aztek and the Juke as their starting points for the design I will never understand. And how this abomination EVER got past the 2nd person to see it is truly baffling!

Re: Heres the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

I still cannot believe how they mucked up the Grand Cherokee front end/tailgate! And the wheels on the new Wranglers. Not sure whats going on out there but looks like a downward trend at Jeep. The new Cherokee interior looks pretty nice from what I see and the size and idea is cool but the grill and lights are too much for me. Its different and bold but not something I could drive.

Re: Heres the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

I slept on it, looked again, and man...this is one ugly vehicle. Just awful. Is this some kind of twisted marketing campaign by which Chrysler gets people to avoid the Cherokee altogether and step up to the Grand Cherokee?

Re: Heres the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

It's OK.

The Cherokee name should have never been eliminated but I know why, the original plan was to produce the Liberty and Cherokee side by side, they said skip it, killed Cherokee.

It's rapidly growing on me.

Apparently Milous hasn't yet drank Chrysler's Kool-Aid.

Re: Heres the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Anyone notice the higher ride height and red tow hooks on the white one at the factory? Trailhawk Edition mule?

As a previous XJ owner, I am trying to like this thing. But wow is it hideous. Maybe it looks better in person?

These aren't mules. But yes that is a Trailhawk.

I think the new design is great! Not because it looks cool, but because it looks so hideous that all of the other Cherokees resale price will go up because they have the "classic" look, and jeep is obviously goin away from that look. I know a guy who sells jeeps and he is wondering how the hell he can sell these things. "It has a 9 speed transmission" Pshh I would never drive that thing no matter how many gears it has. It would be slightly annoying to accelerate and feel it downshift 4 times...

Yep... I'm keeping my '91, Original owner....

I should have bought a 2001 XJ Cherokee Classic, 60th Anniversary Model. I looked at them but I had a bunch of money going into my 1965 Plymouth at the time.

Re: Heres the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

hmmmmmm i just looked at this now so it hasnt set in yet but i think that it could be worse im not in love with it but its not horrible.

i think its a smart design really (not necessarily a great looking one), i mean look at the new escapes and all the asian brands they all are going in the direction of cars that look like trucks that look like cars haha if that makes sense like less boxy more sporty aerodynamic designs

im not in love with the front end the headlights are a little strange but i need to see it in person before i really judge, i just wish it had a little bit more of an aggressive demeanor. i bet the interior will be great though 8in nav and soft touch all over hopefully, plus with a 9 speed this thing is gonna get good gas mileage

The front end pic of the Juke is not THAT bad, it's every other angle that fails that car.
I hope the entire '14 Cherokee flows/ works well. Still not going to be first in line to buy one (or second, third, etc).
After seeing these pictures, I have noticed all other "cars" in this segment look basically the same ( all have crows beak front ends).
This Cherokee WILL sell.

Everything sells (eventually). People buy those ugly little Nissan Cubes for crying out loud. It's a matter of do people pay full price, and do as many people buy them as would have with a less ugly design.

Milous hit the nail on the head, this should have been stopped before it got this far.
