Re: Interesting insurance quote

Bundling does help but don't shop too much as they whack your credit each and every time with another credit inquiry. This should be outlawed as the more you check the higher the rates get because having more than 6 credit inquiries in a one year period hurts you. If you financed you Jeep the dealer may have shopped lending institutions putting up to 5 credit inquiries into you file already. Lastly insurance is only as good as they actually pay out for a claim. State Farm was great in every state but New York. Here they were outrageous. Allstate seemed okay until I had a deer jump into the side of my Buick Regal. It need a new drivers mirror and new paint from front to back but no body work. Found out the agent didn't have us with rental car. A week without wheels sucked so they got fired. I need to insure my wine cellar so that have me only two option to bundle with cars and home. Travelers and Chubb. Travelers seems decent. Owned by Citicorp but until you have a claim you just never know. It's not a fun situation to be in and I can read contracts but it's tedious and brain numbing.

Re: Interesting insurance quote

I saved over $1,000 going from AARP/Hartford to Nationwide + another $100 to boot for bundling with my homeowner's insurance - on a TOTALLY CLEAN driving record. AARP/Hartford was OK on rates until I added a 2015 Jaguar F-Type @ 380 HP....they went nuts. So it's now off to Nationwide. Nationwide offered the vehicle monitor/nanny to get up to another 30% discount depending on our driving pattern. So far so good, but it's a PITA knowing it's there and watching hard braking and fast accelerations - the threshholds are way too low for city driving and modestly aggressive drivers.

Those Jags are beautiful! Congrats on that.

I can't stand those nanny devices and refuse to put one in my autos. I feel like it's a foot in the door for big brother. I know tin foil hats.

Re: Interesting insurance quote

I have drive with a dash camera for almost 4 years. Be installed them in all our cars. When you see the amount of insanity on our roads you give up the motorcycle and have as much evidence as possible because almost all collisions end up in court here. So much for that "no fault," working out well in this over litigated state.

At least the newer Jaguars are much more reliable than in past decades. Congrats.
