Re: Jeep Cherokee fans stop complaining.

[QUOTE=tl47715;893928]A couple months ago, I thee out the Subsru Crosstrek as a possible contender (at least for me). I am disappointed in the mpg of both engines.

I like the crosstek, drove one and checked out the interior but it is smaller than Cherokee (at least on paper). Cherokees are more in the zone of Escapes, CRVs etc. I guess if the CH was as small as the Crosstek it would get a little better mpgs?

Re: Jeep Cherokee fans stop complaining.

It is painful to see everyone progressing and moving forward with their build status. I guess it's just you and me waiting for some good news. I hope very soon.

Re: Jeep Cherokee fans stop complaining.

If its a software issue fix, thats not something that happens overnight. The changes need to be made and then tested and validated and thats once they get it where they want it. I would not be at all surprised if this takes a couple more months. I'm glad they want to get it right but chrysler needs to get it together with these launches.

At least you won't have to wait until May next year to get one.

I know this is an Aussie review of it but thought I'd link it anyway to while away your time.

Re: Jeep Cherokee fans stop complaining.

Given we'll be in Florida all winter we could well end up not seeing a new Limited until April or May.

If it was a perfect world, we'd be in AU from mid October to the end of November and then on to NZ until mid December (we did that in 2009 - prior visits were all Jan to March). Then, we'd head to FLA in early January.

BUT, DW (rv lingo for Dear Wife) now refuses to ever fly again so no more AU or NZ. "She who must be obeyed" (as Leo Kern put it in Rumpole of the Bailey) gets her way I'm afraid to say.

Agree with Leo Granddriver125 - we must always be obeyed. Shame about the flying bit though. How about a cruise then - at least to NZ anyway? (I'm a Kiwi so tend to be a bit biased).

She didn't like the cruise plan I designed a few years ago. Train from Windsor to Toronto and then "The Canadian" to Vancouver (we've done that train roundtrip twice - oh, and have done the Indian Pacific twice - once in each direction) in late September. Then on to a Holland American repositioning ship that would go to San Francisco, Hawaii, a couple of additonal islands, NZ (several ports), Hobart and Sydney. First of March we'd board a HA ship and go Sydney to Sydney for one month (up to the BR, across the top and down the west coast and back across the bite. Then a day in Sydney and back on the ship and a month to Vancouver. Then on the train back home. My youngest son who is now 39 (Phil has Down Syndrome) has travelled with us to AU/NZ (except for one trip that was business) thought it was a great plan.

I'd have no problem finding many things to do between arrival in Sydney at the end of October and March 1 departure - including three weeks in NZ (been there three times and "she" prefers the South Island. I like both - really enjoyed Cape Reinga and Bay of Islands - well, and most places we visited- twice to Milford and twice to Doubtful). Rental cars have racked up over 10,000 KMs in NZ and over 25,000 in AU - in addition to many flights and a BR cruise on the Coral Princess II.

Where are you located in NSW?

What would be nice would be having our Cherokee there (if we ever get it).

GR

Well that wife of yours GD is spot on because the SI is the best place in all of NZ.

I'm a Mainlander and a Cantabrian ie: Born and bred in Christchurch. We don't 'get' those North Island folk and they don't 'get' us.

Spent Christmas just gone, back home (it was our turn to cross the ditch) and tried to get a JGC as a rental car but no go. They just don't have them as rentals.

Have you been there since the quakes? Horrendous damage but the rebuild is happening slowly.

We live about an hour and a bit south of Sydney. Close enough so it's not that painful travelwise if we need to go to Sydney (but we avoid it where possible) but far enough away and in a place, that if I forget what's over the hill and 80 miles north as the crow flies, I could be anywhere.

In a small valley, in a place, that if you ask 90% of Sydneysiders have they heard of it, they would look at you blankly.

We get to view sensational pyrotechnic thunderstorms as they cross the Sydney basin. Weather, my other great love.

We are way off-topic here, but since there is no other news with regards to the Cherokee, I think we're safe.

Oh, and on that subject, disregard my signature. I think I may have just convinced him to halt the purchase of a 300 SRT until he actually sees and drives the Cherokee. I think I might win this one in the end.

Re: Jeep Cherokee fans stop complaining.

I'm up in the middle of the night watching F1 from Korea. Mark's car just burned up. A course vehicle came out before the safety car and it sure looked to be a JEEP.

Anyone else see this and the Jeep?
