MPG Test ON 87/89/91 Gas ON MY 2015 V6 Limited.

I did a couple tank fulls on 87/89/91 gas and they were all intown driving i do every day. The weather here in so CA has been in the 90s in june so the test were all real close. The test were done manually not with the evic.
2015 V6 limited.
87 octane = 20.06.
89 octane = 21.00.
91 octane = 21.45.
Now on my 2014 V6 trailhawk test were in cooler weather and was 519 lbs heavier than my 2015. The best mpg was with 89 octane at 20 intown. I no that in hotter weather the higher octane will work better but i think ill probably stick with 89 as in the cooler months it will probably out perform 91 in mpg and ill do more testing then. The cost is only .10 a gal diff between octanes and thats not a big thing IMO. I did notice 91 had better performance than 87 and 89 in the hotter weather.

Re: Mpg test on 87/89/91 gas on my 2015 v6 limited.

Thank you Jim.

Here, Down Under, our Octane ratings are described a little differently.

We have, 91, 95 & 98.

We are told, and know, that 91 Octane is satisfactory in the KL Cherokee, however I choose to put 95 Octane in my ride. Yes 95 Octane costs 5-8 cents more a litre than 91 but...... (there are many reasons why, and there have been many debates on this subject..).

So I won't buy the highest Octane fuel for my KL, but I won't buy the lowest Octane either.

Thanks again Jim for showing us the results of your fuel economy test
