I took it in and asked if maybe the cabin air filter needed to be changed out (which would have been wicked expensive ($70) because for some reason they designed it to be behind a bunch of things which causes for the battery and front light to have to be unplugged and some other items removed to get to it) They said it probably wasn't the filter, as those only need to be changed every 12000 miles and mine only has 4000. They don't know what is causing the musty smell and ended up suggesting that I wait until the 16000 mile maintenance appointment so that the cabin air filter change was included in that payment/workup. Is anybody having this experience? and if so, do you have any resolutions? Thanks for your time!
Spray Lysol Disinfectant Spray of your choice of scents or similar product into the air intake which is on the right side by the outside of windshield, engine cowl, with blower on full, should eliminate any mold /mildew. Use most of can to saturate air system. There are commercial product that are expensive but the Lysol is just as effective and cheaper. Don't know if WalMart and their Great Value product is available in Canada but it runs about $3/$4 a can and is the same as Lysol.
