I moved the USB drive to a USB port on the computer, and I was able to move it off the USB drive. I then was able to extract the file back to the USB drive. Just finished the update and it all went well.

Thanks for your response.
You don't really need to extract the file to the USB, you can extract it pretty much anywhere on your computer, and just copy the single file onto the USB--after deleting everything else on the USB.

Windows 7 Pro seems able to download it and extract... at least the upgrade succeeded on the vehicle itself.

New UCONNECT Download

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The extracted single file needs to end up on the USB stick so why would you insert an unnecessary intermediate step?

After going through the process and seeing now what the end result was I now know how easy the whole process should have been. Between the cluster that was the website and the fact that the Browsers I used would not work I wasn't really sure what was supposed to happen.

I haven't used IE in years so I know nothing about it's options. I saw a message when I opened the web site using IE8 on my XP machine about turning on compatibility mode if using IE11. I never saw that message when using IE11, however.

Re: New UCONNECT Download

In IE you can set the compatibility mode in "Tools" on the toolbar.

In Chrome, right click the Chrome icon, choose Properties, then choose the Compatibility Tab.

I'm sure other browsers have this setting.

Good Luck

PS............I use IE11 and had to use compatibility mode to download updates.

AND......maybe it's time for an upgrade of your system : ^ )

Well, now you know where all the Obamacare programmers that were kicked out went...

Re: New UCONNECT Download

Do any of you ever have the issue of "Entered VIN is not valid. Please confirm." ?
I'm triple checked and the last 8 of my VIN is exactly what I'm entering into that website:

Used to get it all the time when they were inhibiting access while they tried to produce a version that did not totally suck last summer.

It seems to work now...

Re: New UCONNECT Download

Hmmm. Interesting. It's definitely not working. I tried a few different browsers just to make sure it wasn't something weird with the script they were using.
