Re: New UCONNECT Download

Just wondered if anyone has this issue when trying to get the update. It took me two computers and 4 different browsers to find one that it would work on, but I got the download.

It would not work on Pale Moon or Firefox or IE11 on my machine at home which is a WIN7 system. So I thought I would try at work with a XP machine we have. Would not work on Firefox or Chrome but it did work with IE8.

So I got through the whole process and the exe is on the USB stick, and when it gets about 39% through the extraction process it stops with an error saying teh system cannot find the file specified. I am going to do some more searching, but if someone has seen this and knows a fix I would be grateful if you enlighten me.

Can't extract to the USb when the .exe is also there. Move .exe to hard drive and extract to USB.

Thanks, yes that was the problem. Well it was one of the problems. It also turned out that the USB drive I was using had issues with the USB HUB I had it plugged into. I decided to move the file to the computer hard drive to see if it would extract, but it would only copy about half way and stop. I moved the USB drive to a USB port on the computer, and I was able to move it off the USB drive. I then was able to extract the file back to the USB drive. Just finished the update and it all went well.

Thanks for your response.

No problem. Also, you mentioned probs getting the file at first. You got it so u may be set but if not b sure to add website to browser exceptions list. Even though I am a pretty darned good pc guy I could not prevail no matter what with my Win 8.1 and ALL browsers so I capitulated and downloaded Safari for Windows. Bang! Instant success with file download.

I wondered about that. I read a thread where someone mentioned downloding from the premium section. I went and read the premium meber benefits and it didn't mention that so I wasn't sure. So you can download the exe or iso directly as a premium member?

I don't know why they have to make so complicated with that netsession crap. Just put a link to the self extracting or iso file, it really isn't that big.

Yep, direct download from Premium Member/VIP forum under Uconnect Updates/Tips.

Just an auto co using old legacy crap enterprise software licenses and not upgrading to current stuff.

Agree! Makes ya wonder, doesn't it? Unless they have an update planned that will take it forward to at least last year. Nah.

Eh, I used to sell enterprise software apps and the #1 problem with the sales cycle is projects getting shelved due to M&A activity and Chrysler has had plenty of that. Very hard to get exec and budget approval for enterprise stuff in a volatile corp environment. Only short-term same year ROI stuff keeps it's traction in that scenario. 13 month+ ROI's get pushed and pushed and pushed until it "breaks".
