Excellent video. Nice explanation of the various drive trains, interior features and accessories.

Re: Nice Cherokee info

Listen to the guy around 7:23. He says the 2.4L w/ the 9 speed delivers up to 44 MPG.

Otherwise a very cool video. Thanks.

The pet carrier accessory is really nice. Great idea.

Did I see correctly? The fuel fill door is on the passenger side not the driver's? If so that sucks.

I do believe he's talking Canadian miles.

Well, if Canada goes by Imperial MPG 44 IMPG = just under 37 USMPG( 36.6##### ). Still way off.

That sucks. Vehicles sold in the US should have the fuel fill door on the driver's side period.

Jeep Canada | 2014 Cherokee
advertises "UP TO 6.4 L/100 KM" with the following note: "Based on 2013 EnerGuide highway fuel consumption ratings. Government of Canada test methods used. Your actual fuel consumption will vary based on powertrain, driving habits and other factors. Ask your retailer for EnerGuide information."

Is this how they get to 44 miles/gallon?

1 mile = 1.609344 km
1 gallon (UK) = 4.546092 liters

6.4 liters per 100 km as advertised

100 km = 62.14 miles [100/1.609344]
6.4 liters = 1.4078 gallons (UK) [6.4 / 4.546092]
Gives 62.14 miles per 1.4078 gallons (UK)
Reduce 1.4078 gallons (UK) to 1 gallon (UK) using factor of .711
Reduce 62.14 miles by same factor = 44.2 [62.14 * .711]

44.2 miles/gallon (UK)

I hope this Jeep does well so I can put it behind my motorhome next year.

Re: Nice Cherokee info

Guess you do not go to many self serve gas farms. The lines for the driver's side fillers are much longer than the other.

ps divide 235 by liters/100km to get US MPG

Ok thanks.
So 235/6.4 = 36.7
NHPATRIOT commented above that: "44 IMPG = just under 37 USMPG( 36.6##### ). Still way off."
It wasn't just the video link the OP posted that quotes 44 MPG. Jeep Canada does too.
My numbers suggest how they probably got to 44.
So 235/7.58 = 31 US MPG which is what the EPA estimates.
Doesn't that say that Canada's tests used 6.4 liters of gas per 100 km whereas the US EPA tests used 7.6 liters of gas per 100 km?
Does Canada's gas pack more energy?
