Re: Noise in dash

Any speed over 25mph really and it came from the passenger side. Like a rattle that was constant and annoying as hell! It was really driving me crazy since April.

Re: Noise in dash

Mine happens at 55 and over sounds like a faint plastic/metallic rattle...

Re: Noise in dash

That was the similar sound. Try opening the glove box tomorrow when you drive and see if it stops. The mechanic and I drove with the glove box open and the sound stopped.

Re: Noise in dash

Just a thought: Check that the sun visor is properly clipped in place. My DW rotated ours to cut out sun coming through the side window and failed to clip it on returning it to normal. Rattle, rattle, rattle.

Re: Noise in dash

Not sun visor or glove box. This is very close to radio. The other day it was so bad when I stopped, went in somewhere, came back out it rattled when I shut the door

Re: Noise in dash

@Dave E, I wonder if a cable on the back of the head unit could be loose?

Re: Noise in dash

Hey guys! First time poster here. The noise that is being described is the noise I've been having. Try this. Next time you hear the noise, release the sunglass holder in the overhead console and pull down on it. Does the noise go away? You can also try pushing upwards.

I've spent weeks trying to track down the noise. You think you've found it, then it starts coming from somewhere else completely different. For me, this is where my squeaking is coming from. Because of its location, it echo's around the car to make it sound as though it is somewhere completely different. I haven't lowered the roof liner or console to investigate. I recently had to cancel my appointment with the dealer as I have a road trip coming up and dont want to risk them keeping my vehicle for weeks (taking it in for transmission issues as well).

Hope this helps!

Re: Noise in dash

I had the same rattle. Brought it to the dealer who is a friend of mine. They located the noise coming from the cowl where the two pieces of plastic come together. If you look at the cowl you will notice the 2 different pieces. they used some kind of sealant or something between the 2 and it is totally gone. I will contact him tomorrow to find out exactly what it was that they used and the procedure for doing it.

Got the same. 2900km and it just started yesterday. Intermittant, over wash board roads above 25km/hr. I keep thinking it went away but it comes back. Sounds like its in the passenger door, dash or glove box area or the door glass. Tried opening and closing the window, center storage compartment on the dash, glove box and it's still there. Banged around the door, glove box, cant find anything. I'll try driving with the glove box open and see if it solves it. Very irritating. I've made an appointment
