I will contact him tomorrow to find out exactly what it was that they used and the procedure for doing it.
when you say cowl you mean the section in front of the windshield in the hood area?

Banged around the door, glove box, cant find anything. I'll try driving with the glove box open and see if it solves it. Very irritating. I've made an appointment
Found the problem...it was my sunglasses!

Re: Noise in dash

I'm not so happy with mine. I hear it and it sounds like a wire harness is slapping against some plastic inside the dash. Can't locate it but it's delayed, like a swinging action...you hear it a second after the bump.

I also discovered the seat has a bit of squeak when empty. If I put my hand on the headrest...silence! So when the seats empty I turn the radio up. ( speakers does wonders to keeping that quiet.

A piece of foam weather stripping to keep the offending rattle making piece of plastic from moving and fixed.
Great tip!

Re: Noise in dash

My service dealer said they found (and fastened down) a loose section of the windshield washer fluid line but I didn't believe them. After the fix, things seemed quite, for about two weeks and now the offending rattle is back. Still sounds like it is something swinging ever so freely enough to hit a solid surface when it swings due to the momentum shifts of the car. for example, start off slowly and hit a bump...sound once or twice. Accelerate a bit and let off...sound once, hit another bump...sound twice, etc. unless you turn up the radio, it drives me nuts. And with passengers in the car under normal conversation, I can hear it.

I took it back, no fix this time and no change in behavior. I'm suppose to bring it back and drive a technician around to hear it. I guess we'll call that a vacation day. Sure glad I bought the lifetime warranty! Love the car otherwise.
