Smile Pick-up Today. Oh Boy!

Well today is the day. We pick up our New 2014 Limited.

We ordered our Jeep on 1/20/2014, and it was delivered on 3/26/14. A little over 8 Weeks. We got it pretty much loaded, except for the V6. We added the AD-II since we will be towing behind the motorhome. We were able to get the price down to approximately 8% below MSRP, and according to True Price that was a great deal.

I can't wait to try the adaptive cruise, but since this is my wife's car, I won't get much piloting time. ;-)

I'll post a picture after we get it dirty driving up the driveway!

BTW, thanks Milous for the tracking and build sheets.

One of those features that if it were optional on the Summit I would have not checked that box. Thankfully, I never got a chance to make that mistake! It's one of those things that once you have it you wonder how the heck you lived without it. It rocks!

Congrats (wife) on the new ride.

O.K. We got a little distracted playing with all the buttons!

We spent 2 1/2 hours at the dealer waiting for the the final push to sell us etched glass theft protection, Nano Tube seat protection, Paint and under coat protection.......you get it.

We are considering the Maximum Care lifetime warranty. They quoted $2345 for the $3950 warranty. We keep our vehicles a long time, so it maybe worth it. Any thoughts out there on value and price?

It rained all day here in PA, so this was the best PIC I could get. So far so good. We took our friends out to dinner last night, and we all liked the ride. The 4 of us were very comfortable with the roominess of the seating.

As for the adaptive cruise, it seems pretty cool. We jumped out on Rt 78 and into traffic, and it maintained spacing perfectly, even when I had the speed set 10 mph higher than the car in front. We then changed lanes , and with no one in front we sped up to the cruise setting.

Finally, my wife is just a little disappointed. The odometer had 15 miles on it! She feels her ordered car should have 0 miles. We think they were playing with the Active park assist!

I assume you are doing the $100 deductible:

Lifetime Max Care $100 deduct:

Ziegler (MI) $2135 OTD
Chryslerwarrantys.com $2265 OTD using their $200 coupon (best you'll get)
My local OH dealer $2085 + 8% sales tax = $2251
My Purchase....Texas Group Buy $1987 OTD PLUS 0% Interest for 12 months

Note: Some states like Ohio now tax service contracts which is what this is (it is NOT an extended warranty) so be sure you don't get that zinger at the end. Michigan (Zeigler) and Online (chryslerwarrantys.com) don't.

Regarding value...wow, too personal of a decision. I opted for it only because I keep my cars 12-14 yrs and put about 250k on them. I ,sadly, have already received value as my Summit had to go in for some TSB's and a coolant leak which took 6 days due to parts and my dealer like many don't offer free loaners anymore so I received about $210 in "value" already since the lifetime covers rentals during service.

Eh, no worries, best case is 3-7 miles so maybe they had to go for a lunch run or someone took it home for a night to keep her safe.

Re: Pick-up Today. Oh Boy!

So, if I understand this right, you got a limited with the Trailhawks suspension-AD 2 just doesn't have the "Lock" for the rear diff, but does sit one inch higher than AD 1 or the FWD-Technology Package and other options with the 2.4 Tiger Shark? I am very curious to hear your real world fuel economy and how the power is for you. In your configuration, that KL is a little on the heavy side, and if you do not have the tow package, then it is not geared lower. I have been trying to find folks that have some loaded up KL's (and thus the higher end on curb weight) with the Tiger Shark for feedback

Might be tough since you did not buy yours from them (or did you?). You know how it goes, they will blow out some extras near cost when you buy the vehicle from them but off the street? I know the dealer cost for this plan is $1,885. Eh, the email is free.

Go here and click on Trey Munoz's "Email me" and pitch him to sell it to you. He's the finance mgr and is the one who sells the ext srvc contracts. The group buy contact just passes you off to him. He won't remember my name and you will never get him on the phone. Email works tho. Good luck.
