Re: Put the Pentastar back on Chrysler and MoPar

Guys I'll be brutally honest here. The Jeep Cherokee is my first Chrysler product in 20 years of buying cars and I think the Pentastar looks brutal. I never would have considered a Chrysler before. I think everything about the name Chrysler and the Pentastar image does nothing in terms of successful branding. It's a personal opinion and I don't care for it. Not to offend anyone here but there's a reason they took it down and if I was in on those meetings I would have supported whoever suggested it!

Re: Put the Pentastar back on Chrysler and MoPar

My KL is my 2nd Jeep, my first being a Grand Cherokee years ago. Dad was a big Plymouth guy with a Road Runner and a Duster. That being said, I kinda like the new Wings over the old Pentastar. But then again, it's personal opinion.

I seem to recall back in the day A.M.C.-JEEP had one foot out the door.(pacer,gremlin,matador,etc.) And the Pentastar Brands saved the jeep that we all like so well !! and made it into what it is today !!

Beyond the iconic original Jeep, Chrysler really liked the design of the XJC GC that AMC started and Chrysler eventually released as the ZJ.

AMC also developed what is now known as product lifecycle management (PLM) and utilized CAD to design the XJC. Chrysler implemented both company wide.

Not too shabby for a little podunk auto manufacturer that produced the butt ugly likes of the Pacer, Gremlin and Matador, huh?

Yes i agree with you but the reason mopar picked up amc-jeep line was for the wrights to the 4wd patten and that was a smart move. Not only they have improved on it but it has been one of the top 4wd systems since WWII.

Re: Put the Pentastar back on Chrysler and MoPar

Let me pose a question. My new Cherokee always gathers a lot of attention. The first question I am always asked is who make that? Most people guess it is foreign made. If you think about it there is nothing on any of the Jeeps that suggests which manufacture makes it. I can't think of any other vehicle company that allows that to happen. So if not the pentastar Chrysler symbol what symbol should Chrysler use on its vehicles to symbolize who makes them?

And that's exactly the way it should be. Jeep has always been and will continue to be it's own iconic brand regardless of who owns and builds them. To put any other manufacturer's logo on a Jeep would be as blasphemous as this once was...

And we all know how well that worked out...

No need to apologize. I understand, I didn't take it that way. You're absolutely correct in what you stated.
