Question Quality Control Lots?

If your car is being sent to a quality control lot is it going to have mileage put on it just to be a guinea pig? There is a thread that started on The Cherokee Club Forum about this. An owner had a car show up with a quality control sticker on it and 65 miles racked up. My last update stated mine was going to a quality control lot in MI and others being shipped did not. I hope this doesn't add mileage and a delay in the shipment of my Trailhawk! Any Jeep techs know about this? Thanks

Re: Quality Control Lots?

It will add time and miles. Having a vehicle tested and inspected is a good thing.

Re: Quality Control Lots?

Is this what's called the final inspection and is it done to all the Cherokees? It didn't look like all of them go to these quality control lots comparing them on the tracking post. I really hate more delays in getting my vehicle. I guess I will do like the owner on the other forum and ask for a discount for mileage on the car like he got. Thanks.

Re: Quality Control Lots?

When I picked up my Cherokee the odometer read 6 miles. 1,357 miles driven with no issues. Had it in for the 1,000 mile oil change. Service said my Cherokee checked out fine. So far so good.

Re: Quality Control Lots?

This owner said his had 65 miles run on it and a quality control sticker he wants to know if he can remove. I guess getting mine in time to drive to the Cotton Bowl isn't going to happen.

Re: Quality Control Lots?

Mine showed up right off the truck with 63 miles on it. So far no issues with the Jeep either.

My only "issues" is that Uconnect seems to get a little lazy/slow at times. However there is a software update for it that I plan on installing tomorrow and giving a try.

My "lazy" Uconnect has been where Navigation freezes on the screen but the voice prompts still come up, or the radio volume will say I am at level 8 but I really am at level 14 and trying to raise/lower the volume doesn't work so well... etc.

I will report back if it behaves better after the update.

Re: Quality Control Lots?

There's Inspection, then theres 100% QA. Every vehicle goes through inspection but no sticker is put on. One vehicle is pulled after so many are built and go through the full work up. Those get miles put on them as well as a sticker.

That sticker can be removed. It's their vehicle now.

did you get the 8.4AN or just the 8.4A (then had navigation added to it)?

Sorry, I forgot to mention its the 8.4AN. Whatever issues I see with it seem to just be software bugs. At the worst I've had to shut the car off and wait for the accessory time-out for things to fully power off and it was back to normal. However it was a bit annoying while on a road-trip to pull over, turn off the car, and wait a couple minutes just to get my GPS to work again.

Then again - that is the worst of my problems which is still 1000x better than my 2013 Grand Cherokee was with its bi-polar climate control system and transmission glitches.

How do you get and install updates for the UConnect?
