Re: So I got my '15 KL Trailhawk

I have a 2014 TH with the 3.2 V6 and after all my mpg test with all diff octanes 89 gets me the best overall mileage with 91 next and 87 last. My intown is 18/20 and the only long freeway trip was to test and tune at the drag strip and that was 28 mpg on 91 octane with a lot of extra wt i carry to the track. The TH are 479 lbs heavier than the 3.2 2 wheel drive models. Im getting my mileage with lowest oxygenated gas in the usa at 1.8% and the eastern gas is at 3.5%. CA gas sucks lol.

That's great to hear. Waiting for mine. Delivery estimate is Jan 14. I'm tracking it. Report shows tuck in the dreaded "paper receipt" as of this mornings update (past couple of days like that). I have a sneaky suspicion its on a train or truck somewhere as I'm in Canada about 4 hours from the plant.

Trying to get all the "winter" mode stuff organized (winter rims and tires, rust check and clear guard on the hood and fenders).

Almost a week in driving my new vehicle. My first impressions are overwhelmingly positive. It is a fantastic ride and I am very positively surprised with the Hazlitt of the interior. For instance, the leather upholstery feels very much premium, unlike the '14 KL TH that we originally tested past September.

The vehicle (knock on the wood) is flawless. Transmission? Yes, you do notice the shifting (with some AT trannies you might not), but it's totally fine with me.

Overall, the finish and fit just scream quality. As far as the drivetrain and 4x4 go, I'll wait until the vehicle has been broken-in, fit it with a set of snow Nokians, and off I go trailblazing!

Hope your KLs arrive shortly to share the passion!

Good luck!

Overall, I highly recommend the vehicle.

I have never, ever had a TSB/flash done and don't intend to ever have one done. The flashes screw more things up than fix things and there is no way short of replacing the transmission to ever go back.
I wish we could go back. My wife used to get 21 - 22mpg with her V6 Trailhawk before the flash. Now it shifts rough and gets about 16mpg.

Re: So I got my '15 KL Trailhawk

People have sued over fuel economy and have won with other brands. It's not unheard of.

Having said that, the I-4 TrailHawk I test drove was showing 17.7 MPG on the display while I was on the interstate. It has no power whatsoever and I suspect the V6 may actually get the same real world MPG as the I-4.

I'd giver every now and then. One or two deep throttle blasts. Helps seat the rings. Building engines, we put them on the dyno, warm them up. Do a check. Cool down and then two or three full power runs. Intant ring seating instant break in.
