So, now that they are at the dealerships...

Has anyone pulled the trigger on one?

Thumbs up Re: So, now that they are at the dealerships...

Reading some other discussion forums concerning the 2014 Cherokee, There seem to be a lot of folks who would like to literally do just that, and numerous times.

Seriously, there is something about the Cherokee that is intriguing. The appearance takes some getting used to, as did the WK2, the WK, and the WJ. If it performs anything like they are claiming, and is as reliable as most of the 2014 WK's, it will be a winner.

Granted, it may be a bit of a sleeper for a while, but my bet is that it will catch on.

I spent two days with a Cherokee Limited. I have a '13 Grand Cherokee Laredo, and I am sold on the Cherokee. Way more versatile, easier egress, super comfortable seats. Puts the GC to shame. Best of all, I can add the 6 cyl, get the Vesuvio interior, add every gadget imaginable, and beat the price of the GC by $12K. To get what I want on a GC - Vesuvio trim - I have to go Overland. As for the looks, pictures do not do this vehicle justice. It is modern, good looking and well made. I am off to the dealer this morning.

That is almost the exact conclusion I reached when I ordered Aug 1 - except that I figured I'd have to wait until we got it and used it to confirm my views. So reading your comments gives me a warm feeling.

Our Limited (with all options except the CD player and extra speakers) came off the line this week and our dealer sent me the shipping schedule. It won't arrive at the dealer 70 miles from the plant until Nov 19!!! That makes it pretty clear to me that they are really backed up with a shortage of trucks and rail cars. That doesn't surprise me since their initial production schedule really fell apart with the transmission issue and you can't just pluck trucks and rail cars out of the air.

We are in Florida so my son will get it for us and we won't see it until the middle of December. In fact, we are going to return a day earlier as it is Dear Wife's car and she feels she will need a day of instruction to understand all the gizmos and gadgets.

I'll be driving it back to FLA in Jan.

I just got my anvil trailhawk. V6 sunroof, tow package... Absolutely awesome. Engine has power for days and really feels like it grips the roads. Fit and finish is great. I have a 2011 challenger rt and the technology and interior of the trailhawk is light years ahead. Can't be happier.

Can you post a picture of the tow hitch? I've been curious about how it looks. Also some real life photos? I'm thinking about the same set up.

Thanks.

I was going to post the same thing. I would like to see a photo of the hitch and also the 4/7way connector. None of the Cherokees at my local dealer have the tow package.

Can you upload a viewer pic? I am dying to know what it will look like in anvil in real life!

I found this on one of the copious reviews. I wanted to see how the hitch looked too. It is the best view of the tow hitch and plugs I was able to find.

Re: So, now that they are at the dealerships...

I have a 2011 GC Overland. I drove a CH Limited (I want to drive a CH TH soon). I did not get the impression that it "put the GC to shame". They are different... both in good ways.
I totally agree about price. I looked at a loaded up 4x2 CH Limited with the blue brown interior and sunroof. Without discounts it was 9k less than the Overland sitting two cars down. The GCs have more discount room but still you are looking a 7k savings. You can cut that some with a GC limited but not get that color of course. I guess you have to value the larger capacity of the GC along with tow capability to move on up.
