The auto e-brake feature,,, UGHHH!

Anyone know if we can program out the feature that auto engages the parking brake when the door is opened with the transmission in gear. I think I read that it can be programmed to auto engage every time its shifted to park, but I've not seen anything about making it fully manual.

Its off or on only. Can not program sub functions as far a I know.
I turned mine off, that is the emergency brake auto set function.
That is under settings on the u-connect. A little looking and you will find it.
Even with mine off I can set the brake manually and it will auto release upon some acceleration as if it was in auto.

Conditions required for safehold to be active:

The vehicle is at a standstill
There is no attempt to depress the brake pedal or accelerator pedal
The seat belt is unbuckled
The driver door is open
And for those times when you don't want it (whenever that is)
Safehold can be temporarily bypassed by pressing the
Electric Park Brake Switch while the driver door is open.
Once manually bypassed, Safehold will be enabled again
once the vehicle reaches 12 mph (20 km/h) or the ignition
is turned to the OFF position and back to ON again.

After a few abrupt and unexpected stops we disabled the auto brake.

And we have to put it in service mode for the car wash. Another unexpected application of the parking brake.
