Uconnect 8.4AN

Is anyone else disappointed that a 2015 vehicle w/ the 'fanciest' Uconnect system is only 3G? What year is this again? 2010?

And although the blog post I saw about the 'great new features' of the Uconnect 2016 radios were mediocre at best (I didn't see anything I would die for), I really hope they don't leave the older units in the lurch and not develop anything new for them.

And updating the app would be nice. Why can't I see ALL the information about the vehicle in there... There is a limited view of systems when logged into the MOPAR OWNER CONNECT website with their 'vehicle health report,' but why can't we see everything we can in the dashboard menus? I'd like to be able to see temps, pressures, volts, amps, trip info, mpg, etc.

I'm hoping last weeks update speeds up access for the remote start feature. Though it says 90 seconds... I can tap start in the house, and it's still not running when I make it outside 4-5 mins later. And wouldn't it be nice (since it has a wifi radio and all) if the app could communicate directly with the car over wifi for those features and get instant access, rather than having to connect to some server, and have it connect back to the car?

Mine has the 3G as well. Can't say I'll ever use it.

If you use it much, your Sprint payments could be about as high as your car payments.

Try pricing the vacation duration type usage.

A $300 modern laptop and tether it to your 4G phone is cheaper, faster.

Re: Uconnect 8.4AN

I can tether off my iPhone (AT&T) but I'm afraid what that's going to cost me. I'm on a grand fathered unlimited plan and don't want to screw with it.

My disappointment is that Jeep uses Sprint rather than Verizon or ATT. Sprint coverage is a lot worse than the others (we happen to live in one of their black holes).

On your comment about vehicle info, most, if not all, of what you would like to see is available in the instrument cluster in front of you. Just select via the left set of steering wheel buttons.

Right. I know it's there. I was saying, why can't we see that remotely in any of the apps: whether it be the Uconnect app, or the Jeep app, etc. And although I love logging in to the Jeep app and seeing it only has 11 miles on the vehicle, it's been a month. we have over 1100 miles now. Why hasn't that updated itself? Is it waiting for the "monthly" report to do so??

And this navigation thing really upsets me. Why can't we get free map updates and they contract with a company that is updating maps every quarter, not every quarter decade.... my $100 Tom Tom can afford it, why can't my $1100 nav system do the same?
