This confirms the feeling I had last spring - that communication between FCA and dealers on technical issues like this leaves a lot to be desired.

We found the same thing with Ford when it took over the lube pump installations from Remco. Dealers were cluleless.

What do the Jeep Cares reps here have to say about this? How can this owner tow when he can't even get the wiring harness? I'd suggest some FCA intervention and soon. I'd also suggest that FCA add the need for the wiring harness if it believes in full disclosure.

I'll be watching the January edition of FMCA Mag which will have the annual list of towable vehicles and I sure hope Jeep includes the need for the wiring harness and a power supply. If not, FMCA should not include any FCA products in the list. Drastic maybe, but buyers don't need this kind of problem and it appears FCA doesn't understand this.

Many dealerships are clueless on topics regarding towing Jeeps. I would call FCA Customer Care @ 877-426-5337.
