'15 3.0 TD Limited very poor AC

Rig is 6 mos. old, black on black with 5,050 miles.

Here in Dallas it's just now become really hot. It seemed like my Limited wasn't cooling especially well. Yesterday I A/B'd the AC in my wife's '14 Audi-Q5, my daughter's '09 Acura MDX, my son's '08 Mazda 3 with 162K on the clock, my beater '02 4x4 Tahoe with 254K on the clock blows MUCH colder air. In fact they all blow colder air.

If the R-12 AC in an old Ford was a 10 and the AC in a newer Lexus is a 9.5 my Jeep's is a 4. It blows a lot of air that isn't very cold.

Questions:
Is the AC in these newer Jeeps weak or is mine low on coolant or whatever?

Relatedly the seat "ventilation" on my car is very disappointing as well. I just got rid of a '12 Lexus and the seat venting in that car was much more effective.

Issues:
1. Due to the way the AC low pressure line runs under the hood I can't affix my bottle of AC/Pro because the quick connect won't fit in the allowed space.
2. Even more maddeningly my local shop's connector won't fit either.

Frankly, I'm beginning to get a little pissed off.

I can't get the car into the dealership until Wednesday.

Thoughts or ideas?

It's not a permanent fix, but try it on manual mode.

Push auto to turn off the auto climate light. Set the temp low on both sides. Make sure A/C light is on. Turn the fan knob to the max. Just like an old Ford.

Bring the temp up and lower the fan when you're cool enough. Switch back to auto climate once the temperature has normalized.

Live in the Panhandle of Florida and this things cools down very well and the seat ventilation not cooling like the Charger has works well too for what it is. What is odd is that the thing will come on strong with AC on auto and then cut off then start again slowly to cool. Even with the update if operates in a very strange algorithm even in winter. What car or truck has the AC come on every time when you start the engine winter or summer. I am fine with the AC and my temps run heat index up around 110F most of the summer. Stupid implementation algorithm however...

I had my 14 for a couple of weeks and kinda noticed the same on cold AC. Was wondering if this was a diesel thing, no way can I put the air on just 1 fan speed, has to be two with the seats on. I even tried taking the "eco" mode off; I heard that adjusts/fiddles with the AC system. GA and like you stated not that hot yet.

The A/C works extremely well...I an in Phoenix where the temps lately start at 90 in the morning and go to 115 or so by mid-afternoon. Remote start the car and by the time I get to the vehicle it's already comfortable after sitting outside in bright sunshine.

You should take the rig to the dealer and see what's going on. One possible issue is that there is a flap that directs cool/hot air...and that flap gear/motor is known to be a failure point. (Apparently heat and cool air is always being generated and the flap directs or blocks the hot air from entering the cabin when full A/C is needed.)
