Happy for everyone who got their order it. Now begins the long wait.
I went ahead and ordered it. For the cost, I figure that it's worth having. I live in Kentucky and have a fully insulated garage with finished space over it, so my garage rarely gets below about 50F even in the dead of winter when it's cold outside.

That said, I figure it's not a ton of money, might as well throw it on there rather than have to add one later if things change.

Re: 2014 diesel production

The block heater is integral to the block. The 95 bucks just gets you the cord. Either way, better to have and not need then the alternative.

I parked my ML320 Bluetec outside in 40 Below, no problems. I wouldn't recommend try to start a diesel outside at that temperature in the cold all the time, but the new diesels are so completely different.

Re: 2014 diesel production

Anybody have info on what longest warranty is available for diesel? Should I worry only about getting lowest price on car and get warranty figured out later?

I think I have a Columbus Ohio dealer down to 4 percent below invoice...
May order today after all!

If you order a diesel, I believe Chrysler's longest warranty is 7 years. If you can find a dealer who purchases their warranties through CNA National they can offer you a lifetime warranty. My dealer quoted me about $2300 for a lifetime bumper-to-bumper warranty for my new CRD Summit through CNA. You can find out if there are any dealers in your area that offer CNA warranties by calling CNA at 800-345-0191 ext. 408. CNA only sells through dealers.

With the $100 deductible you can go 8 years, 120,000 miles.
The $0 deductible will only go 7 years, 100,000 miles.

Check out the prices at CHRYSLER SERVICE CONTRACTS: Extended Warranties from Chrysler. SAVE 60%! Quick Quotes. Buy Online.

Make sure you enter all the correct options; the 8 year, 120k $100 deduct. can't be priced online. Email Bob here: info@chryslerfactoryplans.com, if you want that.

One benefit to the $0 deductible is there is no need to stack repairs. If you bring it in with 20 things wrong totaling $4,000 you still only pay the $100 deductible. As soon as something breaks on mine I will bring it in and pay nothing. That is, I won't wait to accumulate broken things.
